One of the only carries I can actually play atm so I guess take my bias with an (un)healthy dose of salt. Trist has very strong burst in lane. A lot of people underestimate just how much she bursts for at level 6, especially with the DoT on her E. It's also sort of like Blitz hooks where you can shoot unsuspecting people into your turret for cheese kills, but will likely only work once. Laning you need to try and control the wave really carefully so you really need a support who can follow your lead since E wil push the wave. Although if the enemy AD stands around creeps, the splash damage on E really adds up. When you decide to take Q really depends on the flow of the game so it's hard to really say when to level it. Her main problem is that level 10+ when she's still trying to level Q and has a mix between E and Q (generally max W though) she can feel a bit confused as to what she wants to do. Since you'll have IE around this time, you want to just sit around and right click with Q active, but that also neglects the burst from E and W-refresh so you want to still get close enough to chain combo everyone to maximise your damage since your magic damage is still relevant mid-game. Yet you're a squishy AD who doesn't want to be burst down. But if you manage to find a balance between the two you can really clean up a fight. Say, during an early Dragon fight you can jump into the back line, use R to break up their team and try and clean up before the tanks get back on to you. It's really risky though. Late game though she's a beast. Highest range out of the ADs (Koggles can go die in a fire grrr), has an escape mechanism in W, can antiheal a bruiser who dives her and try to straight up trade and out-heal thanks to E, and can peel for herself with R. It lets you play a lot more riskier with your positioning, and the W refresh lets you mop up people and reposition rapidly in fights. Pick off someone, reposition, refresh, reposition, refresh, reposition. It's not quite Ezrael levels of kiting, but I still find it relevant in about half of my games where the ability to have 4xFlash in a fight end up deciding Baron or something. Seems like he's quite good in chasing situations since he can just blood rush all day long (literally all day long if you run scaling regen seals like I did xD) and mince people alive with your spinning axes, since it's really easy to catch them if you're pursuing someone. Same goes if you're running away. I imagine he gets abused by long range champions like Kog and Tris, and in straight up team fights it's really difficult to catch your axes and not get murdered. Also, it feels like it's about 1000 times easier to catch your axes in mid than it is in side lanes. They don't bounce off at weird angles nearly as often. | ||
