Unless you're building hella AP and Wit's, your damage isn't strong enough to carry 4 other idiots. So many times I've gone into a teamfight, laid out the CC, focused a squishy, and no one took advantage of it enough to do anything, so we lost anyway, despite being up 4+ kills and me being tanky as hell. Then again, I suppose I'm just better at more bruiser champs than straight tanks, so it might just be me.

Yeah, I tend to find w/solo-queue Naut/Maokai it's better to peel like a madman for your carry and hope their right-mouse button is functional rather than focusing a squishy :/

Hence my question, as Lux doesn't do really well against Akali post-6, so factoring a potential 200 Elo gap... :p Yep. When I duo with my 1300 friend it doesn't matter what champion I play. People just don't know how to control the lane and you can kill them extremely easily

I'm not sure if there's a jungler thread to put this discussion in, but eh, not a big deal either way. So how do you guys deal with ganking bot lane? I often find it the hardest to gank, for a number of factors. There's often high CC or sustain from supports, which can stop a gank cold. Good supports also ward the hell out of it (tribush, river, possibly even lane bushes), forcing anything I try to do into a tower dive because they'll see me coming a mile away. Obviously the answer to the first is to keep pressure on and make them run out of CDs/mana, and the second is to get an Oracle's or Pink ward and clear out before committing. However, even doing that makes bottom lane my least ganked lane in most games just because of how much easier it is to do any other lane.

More seriously, if I can't afford an oracle I'll just tell them to make sure there are no wards, or I'll only be able to scare the enemy lane from time to time. My biggest fear when jungling in ranked is having my botlane fail, because I really don't see how I can do much about it.

On a completely separate topic, I only saw 1 Draven yesterday, how is he? He seems like a decent AD, but I haven't seen him enough to know otherwise. A nearly constant +85% AD from his Q and his insane W steroid seems like he might be great, but measuring up to the top ADs right now is probably a bit of a task.

Ganking bot lane is also generally easier if you're purple team because it's harder for blue team to ward all of your potential ganking paths. A Dragon ward doesn't protect the Wraiths->Tribrush route, and if they're pushed to your tower a lot of junglers can flash over the wall to start things off.

Morde, I had used my exhaust and my red buff had expired by the time he asked for a gank so I just went there to scare her away. The Morde was really bad but the Lux didn´´t even die to Akali that much. My problem with my team is that Akali was firstpick and they still picked those champions.
