I run straight +armor on every spot then magic pen reds. Pretty much open cloth +5, into philo/boots, sheen every game. From there it's usually into trifroce and after that whatever I feel like, depending upon comps. She loses a lot of lanes, but the ones she wins can be outright disgusting. Look to play against lanes who do only AD damage so you can focus on that armor advantage so you can shrug off all of their damage and look to do some trades once you get a few levels and the philo for mana.
As others have said, specifically avoid anybody with damage over time spells/bleeds. And, equally painful are people who clear waves quickly. Poppy has, probably, the single slowest lane clear in the game. Anybody who can push and wander will cause problems. Because of these issues, she is very tough to find a proper lane opponent.
QUESTION: I've been out of the loop recently since I've been doing a lot of d3, since this patch I seem to crash anytime a game is over or I leave spectator mode, is this a common thing or am I a special and unique snowflake?

I just found the counter to Darius: AP lichbane GP in your team killing people during your ult's animation Every. Single. Time. I launch in the air and am ready to dish out the pain, and then when I land a green box pop out and there is another kill for GP. He even managed to kill my target with an ult cannonball during the fight. :D Level 7-8, then "[All] <dude1> (Darius): 1k damage..."
He failed the first 3 ults before that (the first one even had no cannonball hit at all) but when he did it, that was sooo dumb. Also dem healbait/oranges bait. We also had a wukong so everytime soembody got baited they ended up knocked in the air under our turret.

Nope, there's no reason it should anyways. Lichbane is physical damage.

ahri nerf really doesn't matter. if you all-in someone and hit all of your skillshots at 6 you still generally kill them with ignite. now you can't miss your Q and/or E and still just kill them with W and ult though lol
still build her the exact same way too. rylais or abyssal first depending on their team comp into dcap/dfg/void/whatever

It depends on the ability used (if it's an autoattack modifier or a spell that uses the autoattack). Eg for Mord/Poppy's Q the bonus damage is turned into magic damage.
