Watching TOO playing him now and a few others playing him over the past few days (XJ9 plays him a lot I think)....what is he supposed to be good for? His damage seems incredibly lacklustre, and while his mobility is great, his moveblock/re-positioning abilities seem really awkward to make the enemy go where you want. He's like a weaker (yet faster?) version of Skarner. How does one play him properly, and why are so many high elo players gravitating to him lately? What am I missing? | ||

edit: yes, sounds like odd one doesn't think any differently about nunu, so no one else will get free elo from owning up with him from seeing him on stream this way. Even saint does troll ad bruiser nunu. | ||

Heca jungle on the other hand is hidden OP, his clear is actually pretty fast now after the buffed(nerfed) the reduction to minions, and his ganks have always been scary. | ||

What am I missing? his pushback carries the enemy momentum slightly, so you have only about 45 degrees in front to push them effectively, not too difficult considering his movespeed and lack of collision. His Q helps him clear super fast, his W lets him initiate and soak up a ton of damage. Tank Hecarim you end up being one of the best initiators on your team if not the best. AP hecarim has the best spell in the game (his ult). Those are your two options, where takn hec clears super fast after lvl 3, and AP hec gets a super slow start unless his lvl 2 gank works but at 6 becomes amazing. eh He's there to soak up damage and spread out the enemy right before a team fight OR to take the entire enemy team down to 50% right before a fight. one or the other depending on build. | ||

By the numbers you could probably find tons of champions who, numerically speaking, have higher burst than her. But in terms of just sheer AoE burst she does it more reliably than pretty much everyone. I think only like Orianna can realistically rival her in terms of AoE burst. Even if Fiddlesticks or Malzahar or something else technically has more burst damage those two do it a lot more reliably. Also ideal Annie combo is R-Q-W-Q or W-Q-R-Q. Q has travel time so you typically don't wanna lead with it, much better to lead with one of you insta-stuns (especially R since it does AoE dps). | ||

If you ask on any threads for the mage with the highest burst, most people answer annie. She doesn't have a high ap ratio though, and she only has 3 damage dealing moves whereas others have 4. She's an old champion. People say she is still bursty because her bear has and AoE DoT effect, and can auto. Anyways burstiness is a constantly changing thing. Certain champs get more bursty with time. You should be able to ballpark from a glance of their abilities and items whether they can one shot your AD carry. | ||
