wat how does that work?

that's a pretty crazy system, im not sure if it makes any sense

That seems really stupid. It totally ruins any sort of team feeling. Why would anyone play support? Doesn't seem right.

so do you gain 100 elo if you carried hard?

I'm guessing this is also the reason why everyone on the KR server is insanely aggressive suiciding for kills for seemingly no reason. You should be able to win games with a focus on outfarming and outpushing / getting more objectives. Also baiting for your team is very useful.
All in all, terrible system.

Some games, you for instance will get camped by their jungler and mid, and that means that you might be going like 0-4-0 or something similiar, however in the meantime the rest of your team is going to be able to outfarm / outplay the opposing team in the other side of the map, etc.

Its good because it forces a super aggressive mechanically superior meta, which makes for really fun and interesting games to watch. Just watching scarra's stream for like the past 2 hours, I've seen more man-mode plays, than i've seen on any NA stream over a period of like a days worth of games.
I think it makes the game way more interesting to watch.

wut
it would do the exact opposite
If you get heavily penalized for deaths, you're just gonna sit your ass on a tower or surrounded by wards and be afraid to take risks because of how excessive the penalty for failure is.

I'm not quite sure how the math works out for the "feeding" threshold, but the results have been ridiculously aggressive plays.
WHOA EDIT: So apparently this only happens to the lvl 30 accounts that riot hands out to pro foreign players (like clg/dig).
still, that's ridiculous.

This system is just there for fresh accounts, like Scarra gets a fresh lvl 30 account with everything pretty much unlocked on the Korean server. Now if it turns out that he "bought" the account or similar and that he sucks and shouldnt be at that elo it will do the reverse of what happens when you start solo queueing (getting alot more elo during your first 10 games) to balance the fact out that you obviously are a smurf and should be able to carry your self. You do not get more elo from winning if you carry hard, which makes it so rage enducing to do ranked games on these accounts, but if you are good enough (like scarra) you can play around it by having a pretty darn good winrate (scarra does for instance on the Priscent account have 88W and 33L, and a 79% winrate midlane)
|
There definitely (albeit rare) are times where you are doing well considering the circumstances and still get an awful KDA. Bad system is bad. Also there are situations where you can make a gamble and try to get an early kill to snowball off, increasing your overall win rate over many games, but occasionally snowballing hard against you. If you lose a ton of elo for these, it shifts the odds heavily. Like say in poker you make plays based on the expected value, but that system would shift everything towards low risk low reward plays.
|
^--- but on na/eu you also lose lots of elo if you lose your placement matches, not just gaining a ton if you win... so I don't see how this is an improvement? it seems very strange to me, I'm missing something
|
Lag ruining anyone else games? Seriously never had so much problems before this summer fuck.
|
why do they not want to use the same system as the korean one for NA/EU?
|
So TheOddOne has been subing for TD in a tourney, calling TD TSMjr, game name called TDSM vs. TSM.Evo, and TD has promoted streams on TSM's site.
Is TD the next annexation of the scene in the TSM vs CLG arms race?
|
It would make more sense if the system tracked some kind of multi-game time frame so you aren't dropping 100 Elo for one bad game, but people who obviously shouldn't be at that Elo do get dropped very quickly.
|
I still like reading the Koreans insult CLG and Dignitas players in broken English. It's really fucking funny.
"you nono get jobs" and my old personal favorite from last time "yankee go home"

ok lets be real for a moment, is it possible that all disconnects = ddos? because thats what everyone seems to claim. Can't speak from experence but it seems a little paranoid :/
