Sure, time left can be horribly misleading. But at least make it so that the bar only runs through once, goddammit. It's not THAT hard to split a task up into X parts that usually take between 0 and 1000/X percent of the time (yes, one thousand). Oh hey cool, almost done. OH WAIT IT STARTED AT 0 ONCE AGAIN. Actually, it is THAT hard. If it weren't, we wouldn't even be having this discussion OR ALL US PROGRAMMERS ARE LAZY OR STUPID AND ARE TRICKING YOU. If you try to make your progress bar that good, you're running into the same issue as predicting a time. It's better just to communicate to the user that your program is working on it than it is to try to tell them when to expect something. It's all about managing user expectations. Set the bar low so that they can't be disappointed, huehuehueheu. Actually some people do criticize the windows download status implementation because it starts to buffer a file before you name so at first you seem to have a fast download rate but then it seems to slow down. In reality the download speed is rather constant. I personally don't mind.
There are a few factors affecting download speed. I remember one of them is supposed to increase your speed slightly over time but in reality(from personal experience) downloads do slow down slightly even after running for a while.

The game is free, I can't complain. I used to get way worse connection issues when I played Halo 2 a lot when I was a kid. And you had to pay both for the game and the ability to play the game online.
If the game were the price of a normal retail game maybe I would be upset by these things.

Instead, we still get one crappy NA server.
I love eSPORTS as much as the next guy, but if it comes down to it, I'd rather be able to play the game. I don't get why people act like their servers have a problem like this every week, I don't remember a problem happening like this patch for a long while.

This is the first problem since I started playing again (about a month ago).

This and Sunday are the first major problems I remember since I started playing last August

Well, apparently, you didn't try to play over the weekend.
Additionally, for me, there is a problem almost daily. The NA Server must be on West Coast because my ping averages at about 100. And occasionally, I'll randomly get like 200 for an entire day.

Quick! Let's throw money at the problem in hopes it'll go away! Because that's how things work! ... Oh wait no sorry I forgot we live in reality where you can't just slide your credit card into the servers and make everything work.
Server problems are annoying and no one likes them but at the end of the day those kind of statements are at best uneducated. If it makes you feel better, they don't like the servers being screwy as much as you do.

I've been playing for almost a year and I can count the number of times something like this happened on one hand. Some of you guys are just too spoiled to be wanting to play 24/7.

Self-righteous people coming out like ninjas.
Sorry that I paid a lot for this game and expect something out of it. I am sure you never complain about any kind of service you get in your life.

edit: it's not really a big deal, people are probably bored in login queue, so forumers gonna forum. Though if you're really mad it's better to post in the QQ thread.

It is, along with riot HQ. They're located in cali.

Rofl; you guys act like I started a Riot petition?
Yes, it's only for league. I've done everything I can to verify.

How is League being "F2P" an argument there?
Last time I checked Riot wasn't a non-profit organisation. They make money of this. They have customers. Those customers have a reason to be pissed off if something commercial doesn't work. >_>

It still makes me LoL (haha, get it?) every time I realize I've spent considerably more playing a F2P game than on all other games I've ever bought combined.

The last time something like this happened was like 6 months ago. And we got a 10-win IP boost then too. I don't consider server issues on Sunday and Tuesday to be a big enough deal to rage super hard on the internet over or draw comparisons about Riot as a company over it.
I think people have the right to be frustrated and/or disappointed about the downtime this week. But some of the stuff on reddit or the Official Forums is ridiculous. The stuff on TL has been pretty tame imo.

What do? Should I search for some way to report them on trolling intent in case "summoner 2" doesn't reconnect or somebody dodges?

I would assume that's the Taiwanese qualifiers. The mainland Chinese qualifiers already finished and WE won.
As someone in the Reddit thread noted, TPA already advanced from group A, and shouldn't need to play again until offline qualifier on July 14/15. If they're in this one, then it's an English rebroadcast of the group A games that already got played.
Related: I'm kind of disappointed that there are separate Taiwan/Hong Kong/SEA qualifiers, but no Korean qualifier. Oh well. Guess I'll root for WE/TPA/CG.
