IMO it would help if we had a full subforum like SC2 and BW do. The small community we already have keep this one of the most active, if not the most active, sections of the website. I would actually be interested to see those numbers now that I think of it.

EDIT: And as much as I love starcraft, the players are obsessed with their definition of "skill". Starcraft is not a team-oriented game so those players will struggle to understand.

People who think LoL has no depth or is extremely simple should watch Scarra's vods about his solo q. All the nuances in his laning which he explains very well in detail just goes to show what a single lane already contains, disregarding all the teamplay aspect (solo q).

Oh can you link to those vods please? Haven't really been following competitive lol untill the iem wc and I was thoroughly impressed by his morde play (most of the time =)). Also, on activity. I was looking at the IEM threads: the sc2 ones where daily and hit about 130-150 pages/day. The LoL thread on this subforum hit 310 pages but covered the entire event. TL has a pretty sick opportunity here to establish TL as the biggest and best esports site, not just the biggest and best starcraft site. But then you read the lol-bash threads and you just don't see it happening. Big props to tl for featuring the iem lol stream though.

I don't really care which game has a bigger viewership because LoL has the viewership that wouldn't have been watching ANY eSport if it hadn't been LoL. I don't think you should be comparing these games.... Sure mechanically LoL is less intense, but I assure it is by no means an easy game. At higher levels there are things that don't even exist in the Starcraft world (teamwork, communication, drafts, bans etc.) It's a wonderfully made game and I think everyone should give it a try. On topic: I'm psyched that the game is being popularized in Korea. If it out performs SC2 so be it.... Long live e-sports.

The vods speak for themselves, if Scarra could stream on own3d he'd be beating bob and oddone in viewers easily. He got up to like 4.5k the other night on twitch. His commentary is just on such a good level for explaining nearly everything he does. Plus he never ever ever rages at anything.

But i don't think that this will happen. Look at the posters in the gd thread. Quite a few veteran posters siding with the mindless trolls and talking bad about lol. If this respected posters can't even refrain from bashing lol, why should the typical 10-post guy keep his opinion to himself.

the biggest problem with LoL is that lane/jungle composition is so static atm

To be honest, SC2 is hard and I enjoy playing games with a certain degree of sophistication and beauty rather than easy, rather trashy games (like LoL) owned by money hungry corporations. When you have to pay for extra items the competitive communal nature of the game disappears and it turns into an e-casino or something along those lines. of all the uninformed idiots posting, this just gotta take the cake. Billy knows how it is, the team with most skins win, therefor the people who pay most, always win!

If anything, I think the discussion in the general section should be about why is lol more popular than sc2 and the effects of the doings of each company i.e. blizz/riot. as far as the lol subforum goes. This thread is for us to celebrate the growth of lol in the nation that developed the idea of e-sports. LoL is much more relaxing to play anyway, and nothing beats playing 5s with friends and pulling stunts like double jungle annie/olaf. If the competitive scene is growing, tant mieux.
