TRM looked frustrated during his interview after the game against M5. I wouldn't be supprised if it was his idea to do this. Look how well CDE did. I can see Dyrus being a good addition to the team.

TRM has stated he left on his own because he didn't enjoy the competitive aspect of league. Whether that reason was because of Regi or not is unknown but he wasn't kicked.

After most scrims where TSM lost recently on stream (from what I've watched) he'd always blame oddone or TRM. Even if he was the one going 0-3 with oddone ganking for his lane consistently. ;o It's just how he is, albeit, not a good quality to have.

Anyway, I hope that Dyrus will be able to help the team more than TRM. At least Dyrus does have a phenomenal late game so he should be a good addition. After all it's nearly all of CDE together.

CDE did well because they had Saint. You could have thrown just about anyone top and the result would have been the same.

Okay we'll put you top next tourney and see how they do, trollolol. <3

Kidding, but yeah, you're right. But I find Dyrus to be a really strong solo top. His gp honestly scares the shit out of me when it's played. o.e

Streams help generate interest and a livelihood for some players, but they the skill development of the game since stream priority vastly contrasts the priorities of winning a tournament. There are a few things I think that need to happen for the skill level to really grow.

1) Replays. Hello Riot. This should be obvious. Replays are infinitely more useful than any other tool for improving, and learning about the game, and allowing the general skill level of the game to rise. Imagine what the Chinese meta would look like if they had access to recent-day replays of US and EU games. Why this isn't a top priority at Riot is beyond me.

2) Coaches. Some teams, like CLG.eu, get along great and analyze their own games. This is hard for most teams, and will always be biased, especially without replays. Coaches are the impartial 3rd party that comes in and say "I watched the game, you need to do this." They also coordinate so many other things; coaches exist in every other sport (including esports) for a reason.

3) Multi-team collaboration. In other esports you can have bench and practice partners. I don't think this is doable in LoL, since a practice team that can hang with the best will probably want to be their own team, and you'll end up playingeach other in tournaments, so it's hard to hide your strategy. Easiest way around this is to have a partnership with other teams, or sponsoring multiple teams. Multiple CLG teams under the same banner is a start, but I really mean Dignitas A, Dignitas B (or red/blue, w/e), etc that practice with each other on a daily basis.

4) Practice standards. You guys touched on this a lot; we need more discipline in practice. Drilling lane matchups for warmups, practicing draft/ban (let the coach pretend to be the other team), skrims against set teams, and some time for solo/duo queues to generate money and practice on your own.

It's all about efficiency. It won't be as fun, and players won't have as much control. But one of these days, teams will do this and the existing teams today will not be able to compete until they adopt stricter practice regimens. They don't have to copy that process - for example, some teams may be better off without a dedicated coach - but I think most of us agree they need to change what they do today.

Id lose tower at 15 minutes and get carried anyway obviously. Or just play Yorick. Cant lose lane as Yorick.

I dunno T_D. Riven beats the crap out of Yorik, and scales harder. You will lose lane as Yorik vs Riven. Manaless champions are just too good in sustain attrition wars.

So many clones of that comment... What about you read the damn PR announcement before to let that kind of misinformation go?

TRM wanted to leave.

TSM had a perfect fit to replace him, living with them in the team house.

Dyrus fills the hole created by TRM's departure.

Where's the kicking here? The switch isn't an attempt to magically fix TSM's poor performance while putting all the blame on TRM, it's to fill a hole after the departure of a teammate.
Magic is "just" magic until I get my hands on the source code.

Yea I agree with the coaches thing, especially for teams liek CLG NA and TSM. They just don't have that mentality to be player/coaches because their egos don't fit that especially since a player is also an owner on that team. They NEED some kind of 3rd party who can come in and call out people without having to fear anything and also they didn't play so no one can flip it back at them for playing poorly. Team work IS THE GAME and I think teams like TSM and CLG NA have problems maintaining their cohesiveness as compared to M5 or CLG EU.

Typically, yes. But Yorick is broken. Just ask Smash. Who will be magically called to this thread by his Yorick hatred senses since someone mentioned Yorick. Yorick.

boo yorick!

but w/e, there are a number of guys who can outlane him. Udyr, Riven, XIN FUCKING ZHAO. He's still probably the best example of toxic champion design in the game, but he's not unbeatable.

The thing is, coaches clash with egos. When a single player owns the team or has too big an influence, it takes a coup to get change done (hi Phantomlord).

Also, the f2p issue, combined with the huge stream income relative to other esports - because of the sheer number of players, the average League player is downright terrible, and maybe even a bit slow. It's much more entertaining for the average League player to watch an "individual" than some mindless robot. Despite how much higher skill cap the current level of sc2 is compared to this game, league still generates way more viewers, just due to the higher player base.

EDIT: The TRM issue. We don't know what really happened, so it's all speculation. We only know the "official" version of the story. IIRC Elementz initially left CLG for "personal reasons" and not being interested in the game or something. I'm not saying TRM was kicked, and I only hope they left on good terms, even if I don't personally like the guy.

Does Riv actually beat him? I just have a hard time thinking that she has enough power to cut through the obscene bullshit that is his e.

So obviously the egos will have to go.

Right now we're still at the generation of pubstar players. The only way people get known is by playing solo queue, and teams are basically just a collection of solo queue players, which doesn't necessarily translate into being good team players. People have big egos and suck at working with each other.

Once the first generation of pubstar teams shifts out of their prime, you'll start seeing coaching/managing that will eventually scout players not necessarily based on their individual solo queue performance, but also their potential as team players. Naturally, this has to come from coaches/managers that were themselves good at the game (which we don't have yet).

I'd like to have a replay function were you can replay the games at key times...

Good thing yorick is a incredibly easy target to gank early. If he uses ghouls early he pushes; if he doesn't use ghouls early he basically throws away his most dominant phase.

On a completely unrelated related note:
Why do so many junglers waste so much time trying to gank a fully warded bot lane while toplane is incredibly prone to overextending and underwarding?
