Besides his nidalee, he doesn't play any aggresive champions. even his olaf almost always becomes a support / tank defensive line. If your top lane has almost no potential for aggresive snow-ball champions you lose so many options as a team. At this point even his swain would have been a good pick over what he played in a few games. Imo honestly, split-pushing champs are good when you dominate in pushing and 1v1 matchups over every member the other team can send to stop you, but with the current meta of fast pushing junglers and him being less dominant in lane (yes he did increase the cs gap against the talon, but alot of other way more aggresive / mobile tops could have even exp-zone'd the talon at that point.)
all of this is just my 5am opinion though ;;;
Umm, he did say that, but I think their main goal after IPL was that chauster starts to play top as well. Only problem is hotshot's support, which is beyond bad if you ask me, and they might not want to switch things up mid tournament.
TBH that's chauster's opinion. He's been saying they should go Champ specific for a while now, but egos on team means no one listens to each other and they kinda just cruise by solo queue mentality. The fact they got IPL5 second probably didn't help, they need to really start losing and more importantly lose popularity before they start giving a shit and try to win?
It seems like Western LoL teams think Solo queue is practice? This mentality seems very strange to me if it's true. I assume Koreans do their normal hardcore training which will always yield better results. I hope I'm wrong or we'll be seeing BW int scene all over again :<
They think it is practice, and it is in a way, just not very efficient practice and it will only take you so far, but the main reason for the focus on solo queue is because of the streaming and viewers and the "money". I put money in quotes because sites like owned.tv aren't paying everyone they owe money too, they are just hoping the hype of paying a few players makes the site so big that they generate enough money to eventually pay everyone. But i think that is mainly just owned.tv
Well, scrimming is ok, but there's not that large of a team pool to choose from plus scheduling, etc. it's really not ideal to scrim 8 hours a day, and certainly not against the same teams. However, I'm surprised they don't do high level inhouses at all in the LoL scene.

so i started watching the game 2 vod, and i LOVE the insight that locodoco gives. he actually explains WHY the players are doing what theyre doing, instead of just stating whats going on in the screen (like the other caster keeps doing)

Kind of sad about CLG's loss but I'm not entirely surprised. The fact that teams like MiG, Startale, Xenics, and Em-Fire are all living in proper team houses with coaches is fucking huge. And with how big the scene is getting in Korea they'll probably continue living and training in those team houses. Probably won't be long until the Korean teams start going to more international events and making big splashes.
I don't think Fnatic will advance to ro4, even if they do they almost definitely won't get to the finals imo. Probably gonna be rooting for MiG assuming Fnatic gets eliminated 'cause locodoco too sexy.

Oh wow, the casting by locodoco is SOOOO GOOD, much more insightful then the play by play of Torch/Moletrap. I honestly thought that high level LoL wasn't that indepth, but just like in SC2, bring in a pro and you'll have better commentary.
Does anyone know if the Korean commentators for the tourny are good?

I won't go into specifics but let's just say the way they handled the entire stay in korea was very poor and irresponsible. And I really mean the entire trip and every aspect of it.
As an organization when you plan something like this, you wanna take care of everything, organize it will and plan it well. I am sure fnatics organization did this much better because they have so much experience with esports in general.
see, now im curious about the specifics. if it were something like "becca forgot to buy plane tickets" or whatever, thats good for a laugh. but to say "the entire trip and every aspect of it" is to tease us >
you should share, i love reading and hearing behind-the-scenes stuff
yeah, seriously what a tease 100% garen-tee it was they got caught boning or got them in trouble with korean society because they didn't understand the culture or something. or they had to borrow money because they overspent on retarded shit

I'm pretty sure he was just implying the fact that CLG brought Hotshot's girlfriend as their manager. I don't think he has any real specifics, probably just speculations of his own.
Hmm. From watching game 2 of CLG vs MiG it seems like CLG is prone to frustration and tilting easily. Like they have 0 mental game and/or teamwork cause they seem to be prone to non constructive shit slinging. They were doing pretty well in the game then 1 minor thing cost them a 1-0 kill to a 1-1 and by extension a free drag for MiG. Then top with that disastrous gank attempt that really was just a about 10 seconds too late before graves/Ali were walking up. From there they just made more and more poor decisions (esp the drag fight which slid the slight advantage of MiG into a full on rout).
They seem to have a disconnect when it comes to actual team play. Other top teams are just miles ahead of them in this area. More coordinated less rage less individual ego. And they can't depend on being the best individually players anymore because the other top teams match or surpass them. They need to adapt their mindset.

I dunno if it is "other top teams" or "Korean teams."
Seeing how most of the top NA/EU teams are even more rage prone and tilty than CLG, I'm more inclined to say it that korean teams just really composed. And hey, it makes sense, they have a coach that irons out all their issues.
I think for a team game like LoL, a coach is a must. Hell, Doublelift agrees with me:
We have no motivation to do anything and there's no management to punish us for dicking around. Chauster is smart enough of a player to come up with unbeatable strategies and account for every variable, but he doesn't. I could have learned Urgot months ago but only picked him up last week. Jiji skypes with Kelly all day. Saint is just a dick and enrages us (mostly Hotshot) all the time. Hotshot doesn't play solo queue and when he does he plays AP Teemo. We could all have done so much to secure our win but none of us stepped up, none of us has ever stepped up in the past, and none of us ever will unless our team structure changes.
See, it's shit like that. God I love Doublelift so much. If Double, jiji, and Chauster went off to make a new team I'd be so happy. Get solo top Chauster, AP mid jiji, AD bot Double. Just pick up a good support and get like Lapaka or some shit to jungle. Team would be so good without saint and Hotshot rage.

Scrimming is fine except hotshot doesnt want to scrim, he's always trolling and shit so they might aswell soloqueue/duoqueue for better practice.

Probably the best caster I've heard :D. You were really insightful, you can talk more game knowledge because I want to hear you more
Its the same problem foreigners have always had in bw/sc and now LoL, A lack of disciplin in there training. Without a coach who gos over things with you and more importantly "forces" you to practice in an efficient manner a lot of time is wasted.

Meh I don't think they "rage" that much, it's just that they both have huge ego and never admit their mistakes. Seriously both HSGG and sv have the biggest ego I've ever seen. That's why imo Dyrus a wayyyy better solo top because he always admit he did something wrong and try to prevent himself from doing it again..
I feel like MiG won the second game because their comp was so mobile. Jungle invades, counterganks, TF ult ganks, etc.
There were a few times when CLG would try to gank someone then the rest of MiG just appears out of nowhere to kill CLG. And by the end it seemed like CLG just plain forgot what TF's ult does.
