not a great comparison

I also get the odd person who just steals all my last hits and gets far to aggressive with their melee to do it. Then with like 10% of their health they teleport home and I'm left to try and farm what I can against 2 other people in the lane.
As a noob should I be focusing on just farming as much as possible and getting really good items or should I be helping to participate in fights when their whole team tries to push mid for example? annie is good, teaches you and rewards last hitting, is powerful and only 450 points Ok, what is a good guide for annie or set of things to buy? Im still very new so I have no clue what I should be buying when I go to shop most of the time http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=245668If you ever have a question about builds for certain champs its always good to do a search to see if we have a thread dedicated to that champ. Oh we have TL guides for them XD Like I said im really new to the game and didnt realise ppl made guides on TL good to know off to read while I have some lunch :D Not a big fan of Ashe, you may want to try Tryndamere or Master Yi. ... wat? ashe is a great place to start. With ashe it's very important to learn last-hitting, positioning, and basic skillshots (volley + arrow) as well as timings for initiation, which gives you a good sense for when teamfights are going to happen and how to start teamfights. If you just mean you dont like ashe as a champion regardless of its teaching benefits, then that may be a different story (everyone is entitled to their own opinion) but as a teaching tool ashe is very involved and basically forces you to learn very important skills for this game. Tbh, i actually think that while rightclick-to-win champions like trynd/yi may be easier to just pick up and play and do well, they don't actually force you to learn that much about the game, so in the end it just depends on what you want out of the game. This might have been the case when you were learning the game, it isn't anymore.
Ashe is now in a meta with a slew of people with very strong gap closers. She doesn't have a damage steroid. She doesn't have any burst. She's just a lackluster pick besides for the strength that her ult gives her team in initiation, and even then other heros perform the job better.

Trist or Cait is a better learner's champ.
|
I learned on Cait, wasn't a bad choice. Ryze might be good too, since he's cheap, easy to play, and teaches you itemization, and you generally don't need to worry about mana with him.
|
I would definitely argue that Cait is the best champ to learn the game with, but she is prohibitively expensive (6.3k). You can still get Trist for free, right?

Ryze is really niche though. He's very unlike other AP champions.

Facebook ftw.
It's why I listed both champs tbh. Cait cost is ow. Trist no skill shot but teaches you all the other important things about the game. Newbs will benefit from the long range.

As far as runes and stuff, yeah, but he also can pretty much lane everywhere and fits in most, if not all, teamcomps. Hopefully by the time they decide to buy runes they've tried a bunch of different champions.
Edit: Aw, I miss my Lurker

I honestly feel like you can play with Trist/Ashe/Sivir/Ryze/Soraka/Alistar/Yi and learn a lot of roles for a very cheap price while you save up to buy the standard runes you will use in the future. Making use of a the free rotation champs will allow you to try out a very broad range of champions while you level up to 30.

Would Sivir be good for learning? She's only 450, and is tricky enough to be good to learn, but isn't difficult to know what you're supposed to be doing. E.G., her spellshield is hard to use but not hard to know how to use - which in my mind is the kind of thing you want to learn with.

Would be a fine choice for AD

I've never played, but looking at her skillset, probably a good one. Passive helps learn kiting, she's got an on-hit, a skillshot, a spellshield, and a steroid.
The fact that her kit is so simple and effective makes her really fucking strong too.

Out of the 8 champs that are 450, the only ones that aren't worthwhile (from a beginner's PoV) are Poppy and Kayle.

Anybody who played a certain game know that you shouldn't look at his mechanics. If he got a good team that lets him do calls/tactics, he could carry that.

I actually had someone tell me you "can" go wriggles on phoenix udyr, it just isn't "optimal". Well building ad items for an ap champion also isn't "optimal" except you'd be called a troll for calling ap mid and then building ad items on cassiopeia. Manamune isn't optimal on ad ezreal, NLR is a troll item on ad ezreal. You still use all the stats, just like wriggles, it just doesn't benefit you at all compared to a none retarded item.

Just for the record I played jungle udyr the next game and pwned snoopehs team npnp. (having double wota ryze+rumble on your team is pretty lolsy as well though)

Really not trying to hate on the dude, but he hasn't really done anything to merit talks about joining a competitive LoL team. He's like 1700 ffs.

I don't know really. He seems quite skillful, but he kept going how Tri-force was a bad item and that IE was a way better choice for someone like ez or corki. Like, did i miss something?
|
Actually triforce is a pretty horrible item for DPS on ad carries. It's pretty good early game but honestly against tanks other items do a lot more damage. I think Ente stopped going triforce. It does give pretty nice mobility to ads who get it though, but so does phantom dancer. It kinda lets ez and corki clean up fights after poking early on in the fight in some cases, because of the slow, so I can see the appeal.
EDIT Wickd next lets do this --v I got in team with krepo and yellowpete again LOL poor guys
