Idk if it's plausible, but maybe a support that can only heal him/herself but as another ability can transfer hp to another player. It could even be a channel transfer to help some balance issues if the heal is too strong. It doesn't even have to be a 1:1 ratio for hp drained (from the support) to hp healed (the target).

Perhaps a regeneration based healer.
Heals for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3% of the targets health per sec + a flat amount 30/45/60/75/90+X per ability power over 5secs.

How about a support who could transfer incoming damage taken by the person being attacked onto his/herself? That could be an interesting mechanic.

I like the idea for Witch Doctor type support that casts buff/debuff/healing totems. Sort of like heimer turrets or shaco boxes but they have different effects.

Shield partially powered by autoattacking during its duration was an idea from awhile back.

some novel ideas for supports:
- support that is actually a tanky dps. Has three skills that make him immovable in lane and are basically useless in teamfights, his ult lets him 'clone' your carry, the clone runs around automatically so as to require no skill.
- support that does nothing but sustain, just heal heal heal with a little crappy utility thrown in. And a huge armor buff. Should make everybody except the most bursty ad heroes useless in lane.
- Support where you just slap your face on the keyboard and all your spells auto-target. Except the ult, that should be like a huge cone stun or something. Huggggge cone.
- Teemo. Actually he is not a support, but for some reason I just noticed he's tagged as one so they could just remake him with a different model and theme and bill him as the new support.

Make an entirely skill-shot based support. Skill-shot snare or stun or slow, skill-shot heal or buff, skill-shot shield, etc.
Could do something cool like make some of them able to hit AOE, but be stronger/last longer if you only hit one target (Similar to Karthus Q), or being able to interchange them (through passive or ultimate?) from being able to only hit one target to passing through multiple people, with appropriate buffs and debuffs to their strength. That could create an interesting dynamic of where you want to have a smaller effect on more people, or a larger effect on only one or a few people.
Maybe an ability that throws a circle on the ground and heals you if you stand inside it, potentially with some kind of second activation effect, sort of like Lux's E?

That sounds like Lux right there, but I definitely would like to see a skillshot heal, that could really be interesting.

Teemo support is actually hella annoying. No heal/buff, but throw some flat ap on him max toxic shot and just laugh at the enemy as they try to last hit with poison in their face. Oh look, they try to engage? Blind them.
And dont even get me started about the brush/gank control at level 6.

Ideas! That sounds like Lux right there, but I definitely would like to see a skillshot heal, that could really be interesting. I know it kind've sounds like Lux, I really enjoy playing her, haha. That's why I was trying to think of things that would be different. Make it more support-centric, and less damage-centric. I actually like playing Janna the most out of supports, because you have to aim and plan two of her abilities.

We need more ranged junglers. kayle and twitch are sick, but one built entirely for the jungler role would be nice too.
Fudgin udyr always just tanks my ryze shots, so I have to wait for turtle to go on cooldown to hit him, but even then it seems like he has it up instantly. So I have to blow two spells just to break a shield. I think AD could hurt him more, if he didn't just go bear and run a bit.

Skillshot heal? Sounds like Karma. Though I suppose you could argue landing a spell that's a cone directly in front of you isn't much of a skillshot... cept your teammates never freaking stand still when you're trying to land it so you hit like 1 of 4.

I'd like to see like a ground slam ability that heals nearby allies but also damages nearby enemies. Not sure if they can code both healing and damaging effects on a single ability.
