It's obviously hard to compare across different times (evolving game/improving players/etc.) but at peak they definitely felt like a bigger terror. They abused OP champions when there weren't enough bans for them. Big difference.

In the case of Lilballz, I know he stopped playing entirely for a long period of time. I remember queueing up against him in normals to find out that he'd sold his account and the new owner chain lost down to 1400 Elo. So yes, it's pretty much guaranteed that he's playing worse after taking a break from the game (though he's playing again now on the Taiwanese server). IIRC the same is true of GJ and Scarlet--took a break from the game for a very long period of time. Naturally when they come back they're much worse than they were before. Not sure about Laoching and Saber, though I do know Laoching is still playing. FTW (Lilballz's new team in Taiwan) is going to be at WCG, I think, so we'll see how good he is now compared to how he was.

That's what literally every player in soloQ does, play the best champs available. Up until very recently there were only 4 bans so I'm not sure where you wanted to go with this. Loci is known most for his Morg, not exactly a weak pick(not saying he can't play others, obviously not true, but it's not true of the people you're apparently criticizing either). There have been very few people who climbed soloQ and stayed high playing a niche champ, Chu8 probably the only really memorable one.

The biggest upset: SK and fnatic both did not manage to qualify! While SK lost in the very last series against Team Empire from Russia, fnatic screwed up in the first two pre-qualifiers and wasn't even eligible to play on Saturday. The three qualified teams: mTw.Absolute Legends Wickd - Bruiser Lyumi - AD Froggen - AP Wewillfailer - Support Kebap - Jungle Their Danish players Wickd and Froggen dominated their lanes respectively throughout the tournament. Lyumi played a beastly AD although people might remember him from being a very dominant bruiser for Team Germany. Add in one of Europe's best Supports and Jungles and you got yourself one powerhouse of a team. aAa sOAZ - Bruiser YellOwStaR - AD Alth0r - AP Osaft22 - Support Linak - Jungle This team has three French players on their best positions: YellOwStaR, Linak and sOAZ played together for aAa and Millenium before and always had great success. The team gets complemented by Ex-SK/Sypher AP Alth0r and veteran Osaft22 who played for SK's WCG team back in 2010. Empire AlexIch - AP Darien - Bruiser Genja - AD DiamondProx - Jungle GoSu Pepper - Support They played rather unorthodox lineups with great success. AP Malphite and Wukong top, Support Nunu bottom, Urgot and Miss Fortune bottom. They are an all-Russian team that decided to play on EU West to get in more and better practice. As it turns out it was well worth it. The fans in Kiev will love to cheer for a Russian team, that's for sure. ![]() A little reminder: The second US pre-qualifier for Kiev will happen this Saturday. Sign up here: http://www.nationalesl.com/us/lol/5on5/global_challenge_kiev2/signup/ So far qualified for the US-final: 1. Team SoloMid 2. v8 eSports 3. CLG 4. Goose So hopefully we will see Dignitas, Epik etc. this weekend. ![]()

I'd say the dream team would be : Top : Wickd. Close with HSGG and TRM I'd say. Mid : Shusei. Just the best. Jungle : Linak. He's been under the radar lately, but definitly is beastly. AD : Chaox. Kinda no-brainer. Support : Nyph. Same as Chaox. I want to see them lane together.
