Holy crap, played riven for the 1st time. Did pretty bad in early game while I was learning her but then wtf rolled late game even when I still hadn't figured out how to play her most effectively. A new champ for me to master and maybe, just maybe I can abuse her to get out of elo hell.

I got her when she first came out, and was underwhelming. pretty much stopped playing her after 1 week. last night decided to play her again. I went 16-4-4, I ROLLED over the enemy team. Those buffs were ridiculous.

The reason I'm interested is because I won't play dota due to the interface (every aspect of it, not just the shop) and difficulty of finding a game etc. My rules for what games I'm willing to play, at the most basic level, come from how I pick mtg decks... I won't pick a deck with bad mana, I won't play a game with a bad interface.

To be fair, the 50 range flash nerf is situationally a bit more than 50 range. The way teleport spells work is that if you flash into a wall, the game will send you to the nearest legal empty space that you can occupy. So sometimes, this allowed you to flash through walls slightly larger than flash's range. With the range nerf, you can't make those flashes and you'll derp flash.

I think it works that if you can flash over half of the wall, it will put you on the other side. Like if you flash into something that is larger than flash range, it will place you at the closest point, so if you can make it through half the wall, it will plop you on the other side. So its a 100 range nerf in terms of wall jumping.
Its still worth it on 90% of champs thou. Both in terms of being able to reposition in fights and escape over walls. I think Shake said it the best: until ghost lets you go over walls, flash will be #1 escape spell.

No, just farm a bit harder than normal. You can't really start fights anymore though, just wait for them to blow cc's then rape the carry.

I've been finding it incredibly harder to fear people, yeah. A lot more ganks have been slipping through but his ult is still really strong. I'm not too sure yet.

I have no idea what farming harder has to do about anything. nocturne does so much more damage because of how strong the offense tree is (especially the armor pen). the main issue is the sizable range nerfs on the e because the fear proc was the main "point" of his ganks. farming more or less has nothing to do with this.

As in you are better off farming than forcing ganks that won't happen. The only time I've actually landed e to fear is if A) I didn't get cc'd/slowed and they didn't just walk away, or B) If i landed Trail first and was already chasing. The skill feels very lackluster now, and as it was part of his main gank abilities pre 6, it much more difficult to successfully gank a lane during that time. Yes burning flashes is cool and all, but getting your core faster is still going to be better for him in the long run.
