I had no idea that he'd hit that hard. He opened with a doran's ring and went to town on me. I felt like he was more manageable though as the game went on. Yes, he still hurt, but he wasn't doing as much damage as a percentage of my health. Also, in teamfights, he can get locked down with CC just like most everyone else. | ||

He's actually a lot harder to pin down if the player is good thanks to Playful/Trickster. I mean, yeah, if he charges in first he'll get focused, obviously, but he's basically an assassin. If he waits until the fight starts, saves Playful for focusing, and keeps moving, he's really slippery. | ||

Haven't seen a Fizz yet (haven't been able to play) but the idea I get from watching streams and such, if he saves Playful Trickster for avoiding cc then he loses a fair amount of burst. His Q isn't quite all that damaging and is only single-target though when combined with W is devastating. Essentially without his E, he has a lot of frontloaded melee burst but is even easier to shut down then, say Akali, who has multiple long-range dashes, a stealth, and innate spell vamp/lifesteal. With his E he can avoid a fair amount of cc if focused early, though he can't go very far to get away, and if he's not in the thick of things he isn't doing any damage. To me it seems as though Fizz excels in 1v1 fights since his damage is deceptive and he doesn't have to necessarily worry about being locked down with cc and can choose to either avoid or burst with E (or both, if done well). Teamfighting doesn't seem to be his strength, even with his ultimate (which....seems kinda lacklustre? Doesn't hit too hard and the cc is meh). | ||

Compare playing vs a veigar to playing vs a Ryze. Against a veigar you pretty much have to always play super safe because he'll 1 shot you if he ever lands a stun, whereas with Ryze he'll never 100-0 you in a single combo, so you can have more small exchanges. | ||

I don't like his jungle. I don't have him, but the junglers I've seen of him are only so-so. Not a really fast clear, not a great controller, but good ganks. I think people just want to play him roaming and ignore the jungle, but eh, he's better in lane. | ||

I actually tend to play extremely aggressively against Veigar (although I'm an aggressive player in general), especially early on. I do everything in my power to prevent him from farming his Q damage up. | ||
