Stats done with Annie since she's supposed to be the baseline mage: Three Archangel's assuming you have max Tear = 436 AP. Rabadon's, Void Staff, and Zhonya's Hourglass = 403 AP. If you just want raw AP stacking Archangel's is pretty decent assuming you can get a full Tear. With no stacked mana on Tear you only have 346.5 AP. You should have a fully charged Tear though by the time you get enough gold for two extra Archangel's. I don't stack AA by the way. Mostly cause Rabadon's alone gives more AP than AA and Void Staff is going to make you do more damage than just straight stacking AA because of the spell pen. Zhonya's is going to give you utility that stacking AA doesn't. If you don't want Zhonya's you can get Rylai, Morello's, etc. I don't play a ton of AP carries as I prefer ranged AD but I honestly don't think stacking AA is worth it. Yeah you get lots of AP but you won't have as much spell pen (or at least not as soon as you would if you built standard), your extra AP kicks in later than a standard build, and you lack the utility you'd get with a RoA, Zhonyas, Rylais, w/e. | ||

Woops, I forgot to mention I only do that with Viegar, AP is never a problem on him at all. But even with casters like Kassadin/ Morgana I rely only on runes (and Doran ring on Morg) for ap until RoA is complete. When you're playing a squishy, killing blue is rather hard (without losing much health) until you are at least level 11-12 and all games don't have junglers to help you get it or someone else could also take it as well. The IEM fiasco come from the chinese launcher, which was made by the compagny who own LoL in China ( don't remember the name ) and they had the good idea to make it unusable on Window 64 bits. And IEM was full of... ye you get it, Window 64 bits computer. They had problems with the launcher being one patch behind too i think. | ||
