Also setting up a regional office in Asia I think. Other global servers also coming, but can't confirm exact locations. I've also had some rather interesting chats with various Rioters but it all kinda went over my head at the time. Riot recently had a big conference in Korea. Didn't pay much attention until I realised several of the top guys went over, including Lead Designers (including Cadwell aka Zileas) and the CEO. Long story short, Korea gets their own servers, new champion will be based off Korean mythology (Gumiho the nine tailed fox) and further Asia expansion plans. ( Source 1, Source 2). The recent hires by Riot also make more sense too. Also, Riot is hiring people who can speak Mandarin Chinese and Korean and can play LoL to work in their balance and design teams. Have at thee. Audacious move by Riot. China is the key market here, I think, with its love for MOBA type games and growing middle class. I wish Riot the best, although I'm not sure how they plan to usurp DotA's market share there with the DotA2 release on the way. One way would be to advertise via the popular figures like pop stars, famous WC3 progamers etc. Another way would be to partner with existing publishers and social networks. A lot depends on what LoL can do to catch the attention of its potential audience before DotA2 hits.

But wth. The chinese get mokey king, koreans get their fox, brazilians get morde, where is the US champ? We need a bad ass in a bandana who drops bombs on people, takes no damage, gets to buy everything in the shop at level 1, and control other champions in play.
You've got brolaf. Only Brolaf, not his other skins, obviously. And Gragas, if we're heading that way.

Dear Riot: I want a skillshot that consumes other skillshots. So if you see a nidalee spear coming towards you can shoot this spell at it and save yourself. Put it on a cool support.

While I generally agree... fuck those people who literally have ONE out, bet all in, and luck out by actually getting it when there are 35+ cards left in the deck.
I'm never angry at people who dump money into me.
When it's 5n5 it basicly only means that the variance skyrockets, which means it takes ages to get to the level where you belong if you got hit by the wrong "variance bat" at the beginning. It also means that personal stats like tilting aka playing horibble cause you're pissed has more influence since it's even harder to discover than in other games.
(If you play horribly batshit stupid in SC2 or Poker, you get punished for it quickly and can analyze it well enough that it's obvious. If the same thing happens in LoL you have 4 others to blame.)

I usually play with 3 friends normals, but I'm the only level 30 so I'm playing ranked solo as well. I just finished my preseason placement with 3 wins, 7 losses. I'm always the best player on our team with most kills and assist but rest of my teammates are horrible and the game is usually 3v5 or 4v5 because either we have feeder in team that he is practically useless or one player is completely ignoring the game and farms his lane entire game, or both at once.
I reached level 30 about 2 weeks before end of season 1 and finished at 1260 or so ELO. Right now, I'm at 1030. I don't want to play anymore because I'm afraid of the horrors that await after loading screen.I play jungler usually, and according to my team its my fault brand on mid went 0/7 at 10 minutes mark and that those 3 attempted ganks were not enough. My stats say that my average KDA is 2.6.
I'm pretty good at this game, thanks to SC Im always checking minimap, I know position of all champions on map, I track dragon and baron kills, I ward to prevent ganks, but the rest of the team is just fucking awful. I own about 10 champs, but I'm playing only 3 atm, Riven (I'm pretty good with her), Nidalee (I really like her playstyle and 2-shotting AP carries with spear) and Garen (I only play him when I solotop, because I suck at lane RIven).
So question to all of you who escaped ELO hell, any tips? I know about duoque , but I don't have a friend to play it with, cause as I said, rest of my LoL team are level 20ies.
Generally whenever someone posts here or on the official forums saying, "Here's all the stuff I do right, why am I in Elo hell?" the answer is, "Because you either aren't really doing those things as well as you think, there are a million other things you're doing horribly wrong, or both."
If this were SC what you said would essentially be equivalent to saying, "I'm always building workers and watch my minimap." That's a fantastic start, but that's all it is. If you don't also have build timings down, keep unit production up, know when to expand, have good mechanical control etc. you're basically fodder for someone who knows how to cheese.
Keep in mind also that End of S1 Elo =/= Start of S2 Elo. People who were 2k+ at the end of S1 are currently in the 1500-1700 range. So if you're 200 points behind where you were before you're not necessarily a worse player.

Nah you rather need a fat and loud champ with a silly T-shirt who is arrogantly doing what he wants and only speaks one language, while he finds it silly when others don't speak his. He should be almost unkillable though, I give you that. He would find it foolish to even think about dieing/losing so he doesn't even care how much HP he has left.
Oh we allready got that champ though..

Hillbilly Gragas, Statue of Karthus, Uncle Ryze, Urgot, you have plenty of American champions.

I'm going to assume that's Singed, just going off the unkillable bit, and then I'm going to make the comparison so much better/worse by bringing up that Singed is responsible for the LoL version of Hiroshima.

I suggest Kamikaze Corki for Asia.

new topic, SotD is the new QSS. Unbelievably underrated now that tons of people are running dodge and ninja tabi again.

IMO SotD should just passively remove dodge instead of having an active.

I like this idea and make it where if you block the skill shot you can shoot it back and do damage. It really feels like the creativity of champions lately at Riot has been kind of nonexistent.

Since there's no official Riven thread yet, I guess I gotta post this here.
I've been building her Bruiser style lately and been having really good results with it. Start DBlade, get Boots/Wriggles and then another DBlade if necessary. Brutalizer next and level 2 Boots (defensive, Mercs or Tabi depending on enemy team. If you feel safe, maybe CDR boots), then build Atmog's. If the game keeps going, Ghostblade and Bloodthirster are the way to go.
While that seems straightforward as the standard "tanky dps" build, here's the thing I've found about it: Since Riven has such absurd scaling on all her abilities, she actually doesn't need to build glass cannon. She gets waaay more out of Atmog's than most bruiser types, just because she gets more damage per point of AD than pretty much anyone else.
Anyway, I'm still a pretty low level player, but with that style as opposed to full tank or full damage, I feel like I'm a threat all game long, can 1v1 really efficiently against a lot of champions, and can even initiate if there's no Tank because of my high HP count and strong shield, especially with Ult up.

When building Atmogs, you have a brief lull in your power curve when you're building up your Warmogs but do not have Atmas yet. This is because you have all this HP but no damage to back it up. Atmogs is effective on some tanky dps because their high base damage helps compensate for that brief respite before Atmas kicks in. That is, they can enjoy the benefits of health items while building to an Atmas and still do good damage on many characters who have not built tanky yet. Then, when the other characters get their survivability items, you not have Atmas and can keep pace with them. For a champion like Riven who relies on her scaling as opposed to base damage, you have an awkward phase where you have a Warmogs but since you have no Atmas you can't take advantage of your scaling and your base damage is weaker compared to other champions. For people like HSGG this is fine since he just camps top lane for like 30 min and farms all day...
For low level play skill tends to matter more so I guess you can get away with it. I'm hesitant to say it's an optimal build though.
