Thank you for contacting support. I understand that not knowing about Elo decay prior to this experience can be somewhat confusing, and I apologize for the inconvenience. We are working on a system to better convey this sort of change to our community in the future.
To maintain the efficiency and purpose of the Elo system in our game, it was necessary to implement a decay which makes a player's Elo drop by 25 after not playing a ranked game for four weeks to a minimum of 1400 Elo. The ladders are tracked separately so it is possible for one ladder rating to decay while another is preserved.

General notice to the subforum (jesus christ this thread moves so fast, even when I'm gone for 24 hours).
