I play Zilean solely to counter Morde in ranked games and I have 100% win rating with him so far doing just that ^_^ His bomb wrecks people early game while that teammates farms at will. I do tend to make Locket/Zhonya/Frozen Heart since I can gib an entire lane pushing with a couple bombs. Late game you're better for utility rather than doing a bit of magical damage anyways. Think like playing annie, you gib people at the start, but then you're merely a stunbot. Zilean makes people super fast or super slow and saves people with R.

You're better off focusing on cdr instead of AP in my opinion. level 3 R already gives 1k hp and you aren't gonna have 0 AP so that tends to be plenty of healing for me. I suppose it really depends if you're trying to play support zilean or AP Carry zilean.

Really, Zilean's biggest problem is a milder form of Soraka's biggest problem - he's a pretty good champion in a category where the top 2 champions are bannable and the third is still a top pick. Now that they're trying to make the AoE meta go away, I expect him to rise in popularity.. but Janna and Sona are still incedible, and Taric's pretty fabulous as well. He just needs something to make his support worthwhile, and while the EXP is nice, he's only really useful in single-target fights.

Something that i'd really like to see for him is more CDR synergy on his bombs. Something i've never liked about him is that even if you stay competitively farmed, your damage combo is significantly delayed. I feel that Zilean's burst damage (but not his total damage) could be improved if his bombs scaled with CDR down to a 2.4 second delay at 40% CDR. 4 seconds is an eternity in teamfight time to wait for the second nuke to go off, and most mages have a damage combination of similar strength.

Guinsoo said he was getting a buff next patch but I am pretty sure that those fixes aren't just a 'little love'. Its a complete change

PVP.net v1.25.13
Improved Leaver Buster - PVP.net will now automaticaly ban leavers. This works similar to a 'driving points" system for driver's licenses.
You gain ‘leave points’ by leaving games, and if you have enough leave points, you will be suspended or banned.
You lose ‘leave points’ by having good behavior – by completing your games, and not leaving over a long period of time.
Mastery saving has been improved
Repseccing your masteries no longer saves an empty mastery page to the server. This means you’ll never accidentally enter the game with no masteries.
You can now remove saved mastery points individually without having to return all your points.
When you have unsaved changes in your rune page or mastery page, you will now be prompted to save when navigating away.
Lowered the volume level of audio in PVP.net at all slider positions. You may want to adjust the audio levels in PVP.net as a result.
Fixed a bug where viewing another users Champions would display your own Champions instead. This option is now greyed out when viewing another users profile.
Fixed a bug where the "Play Again" button would not work at the End of Game screen for arranged teams
Fixed a bug where you could not select the "Random" marker in Champion Selection
Fixed a bug where PVP.net would crash at certain resolutions


General
Minion count on the scoreboard will now only update for Champions that you have vision of
Solo lanes will see a slight reduction in their experience gain. Junglers and Dual lanes will be unaffected.
Dragon no longer provides any global experience, but provides more global gold
All turrets now provide less global experience, but more global gold
Baron Nashor can now be debuffed with non-disables (for example, poisons)
"Healing" due to a level up will now be adjusted by a portion of your missing health. In general, less health will mean less recovery. Healing from Catalyst the Protector remains unaffected.
Monster AI has been improved and will now attempt to switch to a nearby target when you leave their leash range. Monsters can now reaggro if anyone in their camp is attacked while they are retreating.

Last Whisper
Combine path changed: now requires Pickaxe and Long Sword, instead of Recurve Bow and Long Sword
Upgrade cost increased to 700 from 500
Now provides +40 Attack Damage and 40% Armor Penetration

Sunfire Cape
Upgrade cost increased to 800 from 700
Passive is now unique

Those are all my fav's + the leblanc buff, the ones i dislike the most are the 1 hp wards. Popping a ward in a bush that someone(garen) was already in was one of the only ways I could stop bush camping when i play squishies =(

Ok so my new bans are going to be janna and ww since they are the only 2 viable characters left... And panth lategame if the rework on last whisper actually affects his HSS. Or even if it doesn't.

Locket: REMOVED
Funfires: Unique now
Garen: Nerfed
Flash: No more spell pop
Twitch Ult: Nerfed
Olaf: Nerfed
Udyr: Phoenix nerfed, tiger buffed?
Elixers: Nerfed
Wards: 1 HP?
Baron: Now bale to be poisoned
Veil and Omen: Slight nerfs
Malphite: Nerfed Enough?
EZ: Buffed
LW: Interesting shift.

I can't even see the rebirth of GB/B builds since greenpot is now shit. Most of the fun junglers (mundo, greenpot jax/udyr) are now unplayable not to speak about your solo lane not carrying shit OH WAIT KENNEN IS NOW EVEN BETTER THAN BEFORE. AND SO IS AKALI.

Shaco is going to be a godlike jungle again with this patch. He's the only one who doesnt really have to worry about the hp regen change on levelups.
