So you're actually paying about 247 gold to switch over from base AD to AP on your procs... in terms of extra costs, it's like buying a second sheen. So the efficient value to get it at is probably when your ap will be around twice your base ad
for level 13 nidalee that's 189 ap. Lichbane gives 80, rageblade (if you still go rageblade) 93, for 173... pretty close

anyways i'm gonna make a vayne guide because i am sure that 95% of people play her wrong and i've got a surefire vayne build.
do we have a guide for brand? i did a forum search for "brand" but i got a ton of "brand new <whatever>" topics and i didn't see a [champion] guide. i love playing him but i don't know how to build him
In any case, I was thinking about possible gangplank builds and I've come up with double philo(and 1-2 hog if you can get them fast) -> trinity force with tank, with FoN and Randuins and maybe Aegis, point would be to have tons of movespeed, AoE slow, and some team help. I was also considering adding in Shurelyas Reverie for the additional movespeed and cdr. Final item could be something like Starks since armor pen and aspd are the stats that best synergize with the gigantic attack damage bonus of Q and E.
Let's take a look at GPs abilities.
Grog blade-anti-healing, super strong against irelia, renekton, vlad, swain, etc. Parley-Ranged attack with bonus damage that can crit. Citrus-Small heal, clears all ccs including suppression (#1 counter to malz) raise morale-damage boost, movement speed boost ultimate-aoe slow, light damage.
You propose getting two philos. This is fine. i start with two philos so I can afk farm in lane with parley and always have mana for my ultimate and other things.
You then say lets build: triforce fon randuins aegis.
This is okay, except for one thing. Why take pirate when you can have nasus?
Nasus benefits far more from triforce than gp, because gp's parley bonus does not benefit from triforce. Nasus's Q also has a cooldown virtually equal to that of triforce, and he relies on his q for damage, especially when supered up with his ultimate. GP's e also does not benefit from triforce. all you are doing is giving yourself a tiny bit of burst. Just becuase it works on Irelia does not mean it works on all champs. First of all Irelia is op and incredibly simple to use, so good job getting to 1450 off irelia.
Triforce benefits from two situations: when you have low attack speed, rely on bursty damage, and are tanky enough that you only need triforce to do damage. Nasus is fairly tanky and has built in cc with wither. Gangplank is not very tanky and has a slight movement speed boost as well as cc reduction. No cc. Triforce does have slow, but its unreliable and a very tiny slow. So why build triforce, a 4k item, when you can build, say, phantom dancer + phage?
phantom dancer gives the same movement speed bonus, but gives 20% more crit and 30% more attack speed. Assume this translates to .3000 attack speed. with just parley (to say nothing of raise morale) and phage, this is (108 + 18 + 120 = 246 damage * .3)(parley boost) + (126*.3*1.2)(auto attack boost) = 119.16 more damage per second. With triforce, on the other hand, you get the extra 150% sheen proc every 2 seconds. 108*1.5/2 = 81 damage. In other words, getting phantom dancer + phage, for a total cost of around 4200 vs. triforce, which is around 4080, gives you an additional 7.5 damage per second. And you get similar HP. The only thing you don't get is the mana and AP, which Gp doesn't really need, especially with two philo stones.
If we Add GP's bonus damage from E, suddenly it favors PD + phage even more than triforce.
TLDR Triforce is bad on GP if you are buying phage + PD.
Not to mention you can then turn the phage into a mallet, which applies a melee based mallet slow (like 30%) at ranged (which would normally be 15%). And then you can add an atmas for even more damage, crit, and tankiness. You don't need a fon. FoN gives you HP regen, which isn't very useful after 20 minutes, as well as a lot of MR, which, if you are playing correctly, doesn't matter. If they stun you you can citrus your way out before they can finish their burst, and more importantly you can kill them before they do so. Casters cannot take multiple 1000 damage crits. And all you need is an IE and PD for that.
If you want to build an Irelia build do it on Irelia and Nasus. Gangplank does not have the spam that would warrant getting a triforce, and building tank items on someone who has free damage and move speed steroids but no attack speed (which further improves those steroids) is just plain silly.
My personal build:
philo stone x5 boots afk farm till 10k gold infinite edge, phantom dancer, frozen mallet, merc treads or ionian boots, atmas, guardian angel or banshees, depending on how big your spree is. Maybe a blood thirster also.
alternatively you could just get two philo and build your way up. But that's not how I roll.
200 gold + 1100 + 500 so the proc and movespeed cost 410 or so... I'd say it's pretty good value for money as you'll soon get NLR etc. which makes the proc significantly better

It's based around 1. movespeed and 2. decent damage for Q while it being the only dmg item you get, along with Shurelyas, E, and FoN you're super fast.
You actually have ~4s cd 300 dmg Qs on champions after you get a sheen and can somewhat outharrass plenty of them.
Also randomkorean do you do anything but troll?
0123456789 I used to spam screenshots but people said that's annoying, are you serious? Of course I can start spamming them again if you want me to.
I wasnt ironic. Edit: ah w/e screenies doesnt work. Look at my match history if you want proof that I use it anyways.. if these screenies matter at all in this case let me say something else: Triforce is fucking baws on GP, for the love of god get it.
I know, I was supporting what you said kinda... I was arguing against the randomtrollrean post
@above: Cos Gangplank moves quicker and isn't purely melee and is a lane dominator unlike Nasus who just tries to stay alive in lane whereas gangplank can farm faster than anyone. Also completely disagree about triforce being better for Nasus at least for the reasons you gave.
But umm thanks, I'm gonna try that o.O Though I prefer only 4 gold per items so I get sheen

People have been saying Swain is strong for a while now. I'd hardly pin any nerfs on him to a single event, more than just a gradual gain in popularity over the last month or two.

Short and rough: R>W>>Q=E, 9/0/21, 10magic pen, rest in AP/Manareg. Ghost+Flash as summoners
Items:Double Dorans ring+Sorcerors boots->Deathcap (get a negatron if there is a leblanc in game or a fed annie etc).
After that it depends on what heroes your allies and opponents have, in most cases I go for a WotA (or a revolver at least) followed by Morellos. Rylais is typically not a very good choice unless your team lacks initiation. Mejas is generally a bad idea, Zhonyas and Voidstaff make sense as needed.
You really want mid with brand, his stun makes it easy to gank his lane even if its the short lane in mid and he is very suited to ganking the side lanes himself (which is why you take ghost). His ability to clear creepwaves quickly allows him to severely punish the other mid after successful kills (i.e. from ganks) or just forcing the opponent out of lane by feeding waves into the tower. Also after pushing a wave you will often get called late if you go missing and appear in a side lane.
I wanted to make a new thread about this, but unfortunately I don't have permission to, so i'll just post it here. It appears, that very much like the CSL, someone is trying to start a college league for league of legends. Since many of the people who surf this site go to school, i would encourage people to take a look and consider joining. I think this would be a great idea and a lot of fun for people who normally just play casual games or troll games. It doesn't cost anything and just requires so much time (i'd imagine) per week. However, since i'm not affiliated with the person starting this up, I don't have much of a clue as to what will happen, but I'm sure the person will clarify with time.

Don't worry, Morello's gonna use the qualifiers + Dreamhack as an opportunity to castrate Vlad like he's always wanted to do. Too busy Gangplanking him to worry about Swain.

Well, then my friend who mains Vlad will suffer. Oh well, better him than me.
Also, is it just me or does pretty much every nasus player have that blueish nasus skin (not during his ult, on the splash screen)?

TBH, this is one part of Riot's nerf attitude I dislike--they nerf too fast sometimes when something looks strong. They don't give people enough time to learn how to play against something, and when people DO figure it out, it coincides with some of the nerfs, so the champion ends up underpowered. This has happened with several champions, as well as some item changes (like the IE/LW changes--people were already transitioning onto strong beefy guys in lane to play against ranged carries, so the nerfs just went over the top).
You don't get enough people who go "oh hmm, that was strong--we should play around with it and refine playing with/against it" because Riot nips it at the bud at the next patch release.
