Nunu's early game strength is counterbalanced by the fact that his late-game presence is heavily reliant on one of two things happening:
1) He gets fed 2) His AD carry gets fed
If neither of these happen significantly, he becomes a slow-bot that does mediocre damage and provides a moderate-but-not-gamebreaking steroid to his AD carry.
Also, if your team ends up picking a weak jungler, you can compensate by picking a strong roamer. Amumu by himself is not really threatening in the jungle, but that doesn't mean that people are ok getting caught between him and Alistar on the wrong side of the jungle.
Would it be feasible to ban Nunu with the Amumu first pick in mind, or would that be countered by a mummy ban? Or is this overthinking the solo queue bans/picks, and one should really stick to the usual Urgots,Shens, and whatthehellevers? I just thought of that in anticipation to the usual solo queue coordination. It's kinda easy to get almost unrecoverably counter jungled, if my team hardly even reacts to me fighting in the jungle.
If the above was just totally incoherent, it's my usual patch week anxiety for the patch notes - need my fix, not sleep. Also, stickman has peg legs now, hah. I like those new skins.
I have been playing AP Galio in 3v3s, going Flash Clarity (because I like spamming Q for lasthits, against ranged lane opponents its risky to lasthit with AA). My first two items are Chalice and merc treads, but what should I be getting afterwards (and should i get opponent-dependant items now or later)

Edit: Shouldn't one of your spells be smite?
Maybe so, but it is the only summoner spell other than flash and teleport that I end up using more than 3 times during a game. Teleport on TT is kinda stupid considering how small the map is, and Galio without flash is like playing as a brick. Ignite and Exaust are good spells, but are situational, and sometimes only get used a few times while I am playing, and they leave me thinking "Damn, wish i didn't pick exaust(or ignite)".
Yeah, but this isn't level 30 arranged team or anything, this is level 14/15 solo queue. Aka everyone is a noob (including me) and doesn't know how to co-ordinate.
(I will read your responses later, the Daily is on.)

Because Smite is just that good on TT.
How so? Galio can't Jungle, and other than dragon, what use does smite have?
Also, if you are trolling me you are succeeding.
stealing buff creep from enemy, you see them killing it, you last hit with your smite because it does more damage than their attack(unless they have smite too, then its battle of smites)

You mean Lizard, Wolf, Wraith, and Dragon.
And yes, buffs are that crucial on TT.

All the more important then to secure buffs for your team, rather than having your teammates derp and risk them getting stolen by random spells/autoattacks.

good point, that's a good reason not to play in the most optimal way excuses > improvement

Yeah it would be useful for stealing buffs if there was a ward at lizard, but only 1% of the players at my level of play buy wards after 2 mins. And those 1% of players basically carry their entire team even if your two allies are morons.
