Imo it's entirely Riot's fault noone is using AD items. Like they intentionally designed items that are useful for autoattackers and then intentionally flooded the game with champions who mostly rely on abilities with raw AD scaling. Items that are good for autoattacks usually have a lot of their cost in other stats than damage, but those stats are wasted. Why would an Urgot (insert anyone with AD-scaling abilities) want Crit Damage? Or Attack Speed? Or Armor reduction on hit? Or Crit Chance? Or whatever other gimmicky bonuses you see on autoattacker items. All he needs is raw damage, CDR and armor penetration and since all those bonuses are unique except for raw damage he will just build his 3 core items and then walk around without a way to itemize. You cannot stack Last Whispers, you cannot stack Brutalizers and you cannot stack Manamune. You can stack Bloodthirsters technically, but relying on not dying for damage is bad for most AD-scaling champions since they are either melee or very short-ranged. This is all very contrasting with the initial hero set where Ability Power was, really, ability power, something to increase the effectiveness of your abilities while damage was relevant to your autoattacks. Take Tristana, Yi or Jax. Riot took a risky route by messing it all up and now AP and AD aren't what they are supposed to be. | ||

Having watched the new art spotlight, it strikes me as interesting that immediately following Lee Sin's release we have a horribly scarred and burning champion. It wouldn't surprise me if Riot hedged their bets in the Ionia vs Noxus match and had Brand ready in case Ionia lost. | ||
