And I think being able to penetrate 13 flat/1.35 per level MR from glyphs is relevant just as often as the 6 MR from masteries (if not more often--I'm pretty sure MRes glyphs are more common on casters/carries than the corresponding defensive masteries). | ||

DPS carries tend to be more versatile, but looking through high Elo runepages, a lot of them tend to gear towards mp5/level for blues and armor for yellows. Some do get magic resistance blues, of course, but that doesn't always happen. It's really just playing the odds. It's the reason why some people used to run a flat 10 magic pen rune setup so that they can get the 30 flat magic pen once they get sorc boots to penetrate through everyone's base magic res and none of it will ever be wasted at any point during the game. | ||

there are probably as many flat/scaling mr carry pages in high with yellow mrgen (when they think gonna lane vs caster) as there are armor/mregen. ppl who are srs bsns about their carries generally have more than 3 runepages for them imo if they rich like that | ||

Let's say annie vs annie mirror match Annie A has 19 magic pen Annie B has 16 magic pen, 26HP, and 3 extra magic resist. Annie B will have the advantage the whole time, before and after sorc boots. | ||
