May I ask why Resonation is so bad?

Very interesting guide. I wasn't picking the good 13 and 16 talents. I considered level 13 a bad tier but now I understand it better. Didn't understand well Khala's embrace TBH, now I do.
When Tassadar got buffed I went to heroesfire and there were none updated build/guide, which was a shame. And I often checked since, and there was none. So I guess "thank you for the only good fucking Tassadar guide" is appropriate :-)

Some thoughts on your guide. In my opinion Zeratul is more bothered by Oracle than Nova since she's ranged. Ok you'll get all bad Novas, but a good Nova will always keep some distance. I had a game like that yesterday in which they heavily countered me picking Nova 3rd (Uther Tassadar Zeratul picked after me) but we won because I never got caught by Oracle in a bad spot.
A good Zeratul won't be able to avoid Orable because he's melee so he has to stick around.
I say this because in the Oracle trait part and talents you almost always only mention Nova but rarely Zeratul.
Again in the Hero select section (very good section BTW) you only mention Nova as a cloaked hero countered by Tassadar.
I don't understand the "enemies don't have a way around force wall part". You mean these can escape it or cannot ? I think Sylvanas's wave definitely can, but I thought Falstad's barrel roll couldn't get through ? Muradin can jump over it ? Maybe you should detail this a bit as it's quite interesting but confusing, at least to dumb me.

afaik Force Wall is a "structure" (like normals walls) and behaves like one. You do everything you could do with a normal wall

EDIT: Except destroying it ofc

@Volandum

We already take Force Wall which traps enemies completely, and only has a 12 second cooldown. Dimensional Warp is too good to pass up. If you do want to go straight DPS, then you would go Second Strike anyways. Resonation only slows for 1 second...not that good. If you got it, I think you would have to get Overload at level 1 as well, which I don't like.

Cool guide. This is pretty much how I build Tass against good opposition. If I'm not threatened at all, I like to go for shrink ray and second strike at 13/16. Great thing about him is how you can diversify and not lose power at all - it's like choosing between more survivability (so you can support more) or... supporting more.

I pick Psy-infusion on battlefield of eternity or on mines sometimes because there's so little globes on these maps. Do you think conjurer's pursuit is better on those maps?

Interestingly enough, I finally found someone who more or less agrees with me on how to play Tassadar .

However, one of the key aspects I feel is missing is the notion that Tassadar should be played more aggressively, especially when you take the 13/16 Dimensional Shift talents. Even in the pro scene, I feel this is often overlooked, and I think it wastes a lot of his potential (though teams seem to slowly be learning how to synergize well with him). The reason I say this is because Tassadar is a near-impossible target to kill, and once he gets the 16 talent and can heal himself, he can actually tank a fairly reasonable amount of damage and take aggro off of other Heroes who would normally need more babysitting. He can also roam independently of his team to gather more vision without the risk of death like some other Heroes, and this is primarily when Deep Shift is useful. I think that, unless you are forced to play him as a full support, this roaming, tanking style should be how you play Tassadar instead of sitting in the back safely shielding everyone.

Skipping on mana talents at Level 1 is a risk, and I think it boxes you into either doing a very safe support build where you only shield when necessary or into a damage build to make some use of your autos. I'm personally a big fan of the spam Plasma Shield all game constantly mindset, but the nice thing about Tassadar is that he has plenty of viable options.

Anyways, thanks for posting this guide. I like you, hope to hear more of your insight in the forums ^^.

EDIT: I have taken Resonation ONCE against a Gazlowe with Sprint. That's pretty much the entire story.

@Sjokola - Mines aren't in the current map rotation, so that map isn't relevant at the moment. In Battlefield of Eternity I still go Conjurer's Pursuit, because you will still get a good chunk from laneing while not doing immortal. You get 2 globes if you win the immortal race (make sure you get those from the middle), and there are 4 merc camps with the potential to drop 1 each. So I think there are enough globes.

@SC2John - True, you can play more aggressively late game with the prescience/dimensional shift talents. I often use the speed boost from E to intiate with a force wall, and then have prescience to fall back on if i get caught. When you play 'aggressive' with support Tassadar though, about all you can do is use Force Wall and tank a bit of damage (He has a low health pool - about 3.1k at level 20 + 750 pt shield). I do auto attack as much as I can in fights and use psi-storm, but with this build they both do very little damage. The only thing to be careful of is if you use your E or prescience, enemies might try to burst you right after while you are vulnerable. Nova is notorious for this. Remember you want to be casting your plasma shield on allies (not yourself) for maximum value - that extra 50% shield bonus.

I think shield spam is the best build (at least in current patch) for him, which is why conjurer's pursuit is such a staple.

I like Overload. Tassadar isn't as mana hungry as some of the other heroes, so skipping Pursuit isn't a big deal. Overload really helps out when you need the extra reach, for example on Cursed Hollow to disrupt a tribute gathering.

Overload is my second favorite on that tier, but I really, really, really miss Conjurer's Pursuit, he just becomes so sustainable, like I pretty much never have to hearth as Tassadar once Dimensional Warp talents come in, and the ability to throw Shields on CD for the longest time just feels too great.

I would probably only go Overload if I was also taking Second Strike, that way you can REALLY disrupt their travel path, it definitely helps to snipe that last bit of health off a fleeing enemy, but overall I can't justify it over Conjurer's Pursuit

@Hier - Your point is true about Overload, but I think if you are not running out of mana then you are probably not using your abilities as much as you should be.

@Zambrah - Agreed.

It depends on use efficiency. Having spells set on auto cast upon cooling down is one thing, smart targeting is another. It also depends on what's actually going on in the game.

Define use efficiency, do you mean like using the spells more efficiently than constantly?

If so, if you're building Khala's Embrace/Leeching Plasma I find it pretty hard not to spam shields on CD on my allies, the constant shield + leech is too good and generally the shields get whittled down in lane one way or another. Theres almost never a moment where I don't want to be shielding if its off CD and Conjurer's Pursuit enables it so nicely.

For like a Deep Shift/Mental Acuity I can see using Shields more sparingly though, at least not spamming them like I tend to do with Khala's Embrace/Leeching Plasma.

It really depends on the enemy team's damage density and the dynamics of the map, and from those the resultant two dimensions of engagement; time and intensity. Pursuit doesn't come into effect until later in the game, at that point it may give about 3 free Shields per minute. It can be worth it, sure. Sometimes it isn't. It depends.
