I think the most problematic issue for Ram Wrangler was the absence of a reliable 4 mana beast. At T6 there is Highmane, T7 Dr Boom, and above T8 Hunters should be trying to finish their opponent so Ragnaros / finisher spells are better choices .
Ram Wrangle to be viable needs one of these: 1- Playable on T5 curve, which requires a T4 sticky beast minion. 2- A viable Control/Value archetype.
He might be viable now since Dr.boom is rotating out and for the motives you presented, but its too early to say.

I missed that card Drazerk, could you share its name? Still, the analysis stands correct. If there is such a card, then r Ram Wrangler will see play.

Are the spiders beasts? If yes, then Ram Wrangler will see play for sure. But given spiders from Haunted Creeper are not, i don't think it is the case.

Yeah when I watched Frodan play on the stream yesterday, I was like "Dammit Frodan, hover over the spider token, I need to see if it's a beast!"

So the Ram Wrangler hype is real. Welcome to the mid range hunter era. it is possible to become the new unstoppable tempo deck.

Well finally remembered to actually grind ladder for the reward chest so now I'm fully ready to get into the deck building mood... other than the fact Europe gets it a day late T_T

as hyped as I am for this expansion, it is severely tempered by the lackluster Priest cards. nothing particularly compelling for super defensive control priest, my favorite style. just seems like lots of "hey look i can heal!" at least forbidden shaping is cool

Is there really any doubt about Priest's efficacy in Standard? It's going to be a control game, and Priest takes like half the classes and fucks them in the gutter when it comes to control. Regardless of what's being introduced for them, Priest will still have a solid spot in the control meta of Standard at least for a while- and given the minds behind Priest lists, it'll probably stick around for some time.

Both shaman and huntard got good tools to support aggressive and midrange archetypes tbh

Why are you so sure its going to be a control meta? Aggro shaman only lost crackle, while it picks up a turn 4 7/7 in a world where BGH costs 5. Zoo still has some strong aggressive cards in Flame Imp and Wraithguard might see some play with Zombie Chow, Belcher, Antique Healbot, and Deathlord leaving us with significantly weaker defensive options. Bladed Cultist is a reason to play aggro rouge again if I've ever seen one, and Bloodsail Cultist might mark warriors return to aggro when combined with the weakening of defensive cards. Still far from a safe bet that its going to be a control meta.

I'm pretty unsure how Priest is gonna deal with a loss of board control without Lightbomb. All I can really think of is to go hard on Dragon Priest, with a few new tools added in.

dragon priest looses velens chosen, which is a big deal. nothing new to add to the list is another thing..

True I guess, though I think Darkshire Alchemist is solid, and Power Word: Tentacles may end up being a good enough substitute for Velen's Chosen.
Aside from that, Dragon Priest lists actually had a tough time fitting in all the stuff they wanted, so I think they'll still have a full deck list. And don't forget that other decks are losing Shredder and Belcher, but Dragon Priest still has the Twilight Guardian and Blackwing Corruptor that they used instead.

Control Priest will be tough. Lightbomb is the biggest but Chow, Velens and esp Deathlord hurt too. The flex seems the only card that would fit right now in a control list. I think its pretty great. Can fill out your curve vs aggroish decks since priest often have early turns where you sit on combo cards and have nothing to play and when you draw it late it can be a big threat. The neutral that heals for 8 is probably also a great card as its drawback isnt really one for priest. You either dont care about health anyway or wanna burst with Auchenai. With BGH nerfed and more bigger minions maybe seeing play, SW:Death also got a indirect buff. If these can offset the nerfes to Lightbomb/Deathlord is questionable though.
Dragon Priest is just another tempo deck without burst, so not really interested in that.

Do priests even have anything before turn 4 anymore?
They kind of have Museum curator on t2 but without Deathlord / Dark cultist in the game what can he really draw other than late game cards...
