+ Show Spoiler +1. Lava Burst, Defender of Argus, Imp Master Argus by a nose over Lava Burst, but i thought about it.
2. Scarlet Crusader, Acidic Swamp Ooze, Kobold Geomancer I do like crusader, she might be better than ooze here.
3. Arcane Golem, Argent Commander, Coldlight Oracle
4. Murloc Tidehunter, Unbound Elemental, Lightning Bolt Unbound is cool but Bolt is great.
5. Southsea Deckhand, Dread Corsair, Bloodlust
6. Nightblade, Bloodlust, Windfury Harpy This might have been wrong but 2 BL seemed overkill.
7. Hex, Worgen Infiltrator, Voodoo Doctor

9. Dark Iron Dwarf, Dust Devil, Archmage
10. Bloodsail Corsair, Young Priestess, Argent Commander Awwww yeeee
11. Stormwind Champion, [b]Stormforged Axe[/], Boulderfist Ogre I take the axe here to shore up my early game and because i have 3 6 drops already.
12. Shattered Sun Cleric, Flametoungue Totem, Dust Devil This is hard but i think SSC gets the nod
13. Stranglethorn Tiger, Dread Corsair, Ancestral Healing I don't like this but don't see better option with only 1 weapon.
14. Stormwind Knight, Hex, Ironforge Rifleman
15. Unbound Elemental, Flametongue Totem, Goldshire Footman Iffy pick - i have 2 overloads, and i think i can probably get a couple more. Flametongue is so good though i want actual creatures

I learned that having good deck isn't necessarily 7+ wins. It's really all about how good of a deck you're also facing and the players themselves. Luck is a lot of it too.
I guess that was obvious, but I needed to say it out loud to avoid myself from getting disappointed, despite drafting great cards.

12-2! (link to deck)
It was my second arena run since the 12 win patch. The patch that introduced 12 wins was glitched and wouldn't allow me to start a new one. After what I felt was a bad Shaman deck I went Mage and got all the spells I could want. In my run I couldn't draw a Flamestrike and lost because of it, lost a very close game against a Paladin and in the game after the next one faced him again and remembered his name and basically knew what he could play and beat him good, had an EPIC Mage vs. Mage where we drew all our cards and luckily for me I played the better game (also unluckily for him he didn't draw Antonidas until the last few cards and without any spells to back him up so it died quick) and faced a Druid that took two Flamestrikes and rushed me down to 2 HP before I was finally able to clear the board and keep him frozen (with a Frost Elemental first because he was armored up and I had a Water Elemental out also) for a few turns long enough to finally play most of my cards and win the game (holy crap every time he drew a card I thought I was getting Starfire'd or Swipe'd and he would hover over my hero as such).

WAT
This deck got to 10-3. I thought it was shit and went 0-2 but then I just kept winning (some pretty close games too).
Ended up 10-3. That's the best I've ever done. Usually I just bust Rogue/Paladin/Priest and the highest I've gotten to was 5-3.
Fuck man what a run.
Not shown are Dragon Mechanic chick, Flamestrike and Mountain Giant, who actually got some board time.

I finally had my first solid Arena run and went 8-3.
Didn't get anything I wanted out of the rewards, but yay enough gold to do another Arena straight away (if I had time) and I got some dust from a gold card so I can craft a nice rare for my collection or something =)

Second time I got 4-3. Facing insane just silly decks again. Druid with Deathwing, now a Paladin that had 3 Defender Secrets and a Revive one, Concentration. Charge Minions. Arcane Golem. Avenging Wrath and Hammer of Wrath as a finisher and of course all of this in his first 10 card, obviously. I couldn't get 1 minion out that survived for a round. Hilarious.
Games lost to Skill: 0 Game lost to silly drafts: 3
No more Arena for the day.

just had the sewer of mage decks. no fireballs/frostbolts. no shattered suns/dark irons. 1 poly flamestrike and blizzard and a defender of argus.
9 wins wtf.

Eight games in a row with a starting hand of Crazed Alchemist - Ice Barrier - Water Elemental (+1 and coin if I went second). I drew Ysera once, in the first game. RNG plz.

Not bad. Played 2 druid decks so far today, 7-3 with the first, 7-3 with the second. I think the second deck is stronger than the first though. Some stuff I managed to do with the second is turn 1 demolisher vs. a paladin.
Lost to a rogue with 3 backstab& 2 eviscerate that I saw though on my last game. Some games you just can't win =(. Almost at the infinite arena point.
Paladin this time around.
5-1, I fucked up against a mage. Could've MAYBE won, but I made a bad play near the end. There was also a game where bomber came in huge for me. I had a gurubashi berserker on field, vs a bunch of small stuff + sunwalker & Lord of the arena. Had a truesilver in hand, played the bomber. I was hoping for a hit onto the berserker+divine shield. It ended up pinging berserker once, divine shield off AND a shot to the arena master. 8 targets on deck, and it hit exactly the 3 that allowed me to take the game back.
Difference between 6 and 7 I think is too big. Got 75-80g for most of my 6 wins, and 150-180 for my 7. Really fucking stupid how you could go 7/3 5 times in a row, and a single 6 win erases all that progress.

Got my first 12-2 finally. Sponsored by Archmage Antonidas who was my 3rd card while drafting. First I thought the cards I got with him were so-so, even though I had a ton of removal spells. But turned out the cards were perfect to bait out removals and keep trading, so I could Fireball most opponents down after Antonidas. Got Antonidas in 10 games at around turn 8 alongside Mirror Image. Really lucky draws considering I only had one novice engineer to draw additional cards and was pretty much depended on Antonidas to get me extra Fireballs.

6-3, best yet, I guess I can be happy. Was a rogue deck. Last game was a rogue mirror, I start first with pretty much only a loot hoarder to start. Turn 2 he kills the hoarder with his dagger, turn 3 I drop my imp master, to which he answers with coin+yeti, turn 4 backstab+Defias ringleader (combo)+coldblood on the yeti (combo) for a 8-4 yeti. Welp. GG.
His starting hand+draw were near-perfect for that play (he still had poison and DID in his hand at this point), but even without that the coin is so powerful in Rogue mirrors, damn. :<

It does make me wonder if coin should proc card effects. As well as Rogues in general, Mana Wyrms and Questing adventures get so much out of the coin it does seem kind of silly. The problem is the game is so elegant with it's lack of exceptions and errata, that making the coin not proc abilities feels clunky and lame. But it would be fairer!

Woo went to 12 wins for the first time! I also go really lucky with my packs, got a Tirion, an ancient of lore, a golden pit lord, and a mortal strike. So happy right now

2-3 in my first ever Arena attempt. It was quite a lot of fun. I don't know anything about drafting and what's really good at this point, but I learned I love two mechanics (probably too much): I like to use dudes with taunt, and I like to draw cards.
I play Blue/White and green/colorless in Magic, so I guess its not surprising.

Well just went 6-3 on paladin. Was doing okay, but then I just ran into one strong and one ludicrous deck in a row.
Shaman just seemed like he had an answer to everything I was doing. I think I may have made a poor decision somewhere along the line though.
Was in a pretty great spot, up 2 cards, had a slight advantage on the board in a mirror along with about a 10hp advantage. Then on turn 7, bubbled sylvanas comes out, and I have to make some poor trades to get rid of it without losing anything(no silence OP). And then comes the bubbled molten giant...and then the bubbled venture co for good measure. Needless to say, I didn't win.

Just went:
0-3 0-3 1-3 3-3 0-3 0-3 0-3 1-3
Fuck this shit. Its not possible to lose this badly with good arena drafts.

Fuck this shit. Its not possible to lose this badly with good arena drafts. I'm going to hazard a guess that there's something fundamentally wrong with your drafting. I felt I improved a LOT after watching some draft videos from ""Ben's Gaming Corner" (a guy that has 8000 gold from playing arenas), or Trump. They both explain their draft choices well, and it's good to watch the games to see their decisionmaking there too. Watch the videos and try to think of what you would play in the same situation. If your choices differ, try to determine why.

12-2 finally fucking hell my best previous result was 7-3 i didnt even have op cards only all good standard ones and i got 25 dust in 1 package lmao but overall 380 gold and 2 packs of cards so its not too bad i guess

If your choices differ, try to determine why. All but certainly a drafting issue. I'm not the best player by any means, not infinite, but I very consistently hit 5-7 wins. 0-3 more than once every 10 runs is a fundamental drafting or play issue, because as of late, even the worst decks I've gotten(mage with very few spells, weaponless warrior, etc) can get at least a couple of wins, often more.
|
I'm positive your definition of good draft is not a correct definition with those results. You might want to accept the result that you are not good at the game rather than the fact that you are unlucky and only at that point will you be able to improve!
