When playing an Unleash the Hounds deck, what cards am I looking to get in my starting hand?

What decks is Unleash the Hounds good against? Which is it bad against?

I think it depends on the rest of your cards in your hand, sometimes I'll do nothing, like I would never play a 1 toughness minion with a nsc early on the board but if I have a good hand that I think I can keep the tempo I'll let them draw one card. For example if I have something like a 2/3 and a ssc or a dire wolf in hand I'll play the 2/3, they'll likely trade and heal, so they just spent their whole turn to draw a card, next turn you play ssc/dire wolf and kill the cleric so now you have 2 minions vs their empty board.

Does anyone know what time this month HS goes open beta? I've been signed up for beta as soon as it was available but couldn't get in. I know it's supposed to be open beta sometime in december, but after googling, couldn't find anything on the actual date

There's no actual date yet as far as I know. They just said they were going to do an open beta in a month (from Blizzcon), but it's Blizzard so that could easily be January or February.

According to Zeriyah, it brings back the first minion to be put on the table.

Then again, some people that have tested it think it is RNG.

I just started playing today. The game is pretty fun. But my problem is that if you go into a game with the wrong deck you'll likely lose. Like I'm just playing against the expert paladin, and he has a bunch of divine shields and better spells than I have. Since I didn't come prepared and only have swipe to do AoE damage to clear the field of those shields (or I have to use my hero ability), I don't have a good way of dealing with them. Then I come back with my mage deck, fireball or use AoE spells on every divine shield, and win easily.

If I had the AoE druid spell and treants I could deal with Paladins, but if I randomly run into a Paladin, and I don't have the right deck, I'm not going to win.

Also I'm not sure to what degree this game is pay to win. They're going to keep releasing new cards. Someone who can shell out 40$ every 6 months is always going to have "stronger" cards than you.

Still, it's a very strategic game and you can definitely play this when you have lag.
