The free cards do a good job showing off each class so you don't need additional cards for learning purposes. And every card except for one can be obtained or crafted with in-game resources. Dropping money on the game simply saves you time. I'd say if the game is fun with just the free stuff don't bother. If the game is fun but getting a bit boring then it's probably worth spending a bit of money on a few packs. "A bit" and "a few" are subjective for each person.

I would play for a bit and then decide if it's a game I would pay money to buy. Even $10 is pretty cheap for a game. There's so much crap games that sell for $60+. I think that's the way you should look at it, because buying packs doesn't significantly affect your experience IMO. You're going to get plenty of gold anyway just for doing the tutorials/class unlocks etc.

Foil cards that cannot be crafted so far are the card for using real cash in the store and the Blizzcon card.

Maybe because it's 1v1, it's harder to figure out how to do it in a way that prevents exploits, but in other f2p games, I can play with my friends and still "progress". DOTA, LoL, CS:GO, etc. I think they should look into it. It's just a weird design decision to: 1. Not let you talk or socialize with your matchmaking opponent. 2. If you want to play with your friends and chat, suddenly you can't get any progression. The game is fun but when my friends and I get on we're probably going to grind the daily before even thinking about playing with each other. I think that's the wrong kind of incentive to put in a game.

If you at least don't do awful in Arena you can get like that 30 extra gold to get you through the next day. But yeah the grind is quite hard.

"The game was unable to log you into battle.net. Please wait a few minutes and try again." I get this every time and I need to relog 1-10 times and delete the blizzard entertainment folder in C:\ProgramData a few times before I can start the game, and this gets me very irritated. I wonder if anyone here has had this problem and has found a decent solution. PS. I googled it and looked at 1-2 posts in bnet forums but no reliable answers and all were closed.
