Not that I mind, I think this is a cool idea if it will run on an android phone. CCGs are quick to play and adictive. It's a great game for armchair spectators to feel involved with the streamer. It's blizzard.

Lots of people in the community have a background in TCGs.

When they add just one new mechanic, fifty new combo possibilities will be available. Right now they're just creating the groundwork for the game and aren't focusing on the depth of mechanics. This is just speculation of course.

Depth in mechanics normally comes from players finding interesting interactions between rules and cards, rather than the developer pre-baking “depth” into the game. The best way to foster depth is to let the players explore the rule set and then expand upon the interactions they find. Attempting to pre-bake depth into the game can cause it to be overly complicated without purpose, or having useless rules that don’t matter. Depth in a CCG is a back and forth relationship between the games creator and its players.

I do think you'll see bread and butter mechanics like player-activated abilities, abilities with costs, etc. as time goes on, but there is one layer of complexity that I think Hearthstone will always lack, and that's being able to play cards on your opponents turn.

It's simply fun to play. Nothing more or less.

Also this game will simply get harder by more cards. Similar to how Dota isn't easy to master. Also to the other guy, the most popular streams are: www.twitch.tv/reckful www.twitch.tv/nl_kripp And some of the LoL players, like right now www.twitch.tv/chaoxlol I'd also recommend watching Trump at www.twitch.tv/trumpsc

Everything about it is great. It may not have the technical ceiling that MTG has, but it has enough core card game elements to provide strategy. It's a casual card game with a deceptively high skill cap. Hearthstone is to MTG that League of Legends is to Dota. I'm sure there will be some elitism between Hearthstone and other card games but I don't think any of that matters. The game is fun, and that's all that matters. At current rates, I don't see all cards being too difficult to obtain. If you're good at arena you can perpetually unlock cards for free. I do feel that gold rate acquisition is way too low though. Boost it a bit more so you could get a pack a day perhaps.

Although I do love watching streams it's so frustrating watching people play and make decisions that you don't think is right! Right now Trump just drafted and took LOADS of 2 cost and 4 cost with few 3 cost and 1 cost cards. With the passive being a 2 cost he's just screwed up his mana curve as he often won't be able to use all his mana when it's an uneven number. Edit: Case and point turn 3 and 5 of the first game! He's a very good player, don't get me wrong ![]()
