Ken.

It fits both Japanese and American backgrounds. Ken is short for Kenny in English and Ken could be short for Kenji in Japanese. It really satisfies both parties and shows the multiple sides that form the child

Since we are living in Japan, and my wife's family has no sons, it is a way for us to continue the family name. (If I were Japanese I may have taken her name upon marrying, its not too uncommon). Also, it is useful to have a Japanese last name in Japan. If we decided to move back to Canada permanently, I think we would all change to Allen.
