when i do a pushup or something of the sort, my right elbow cracks or snaps and it hurts a little bit. i looked it up and it seems to be the "snapping tricep syndrome'?
is there anyway i can fix this?

Actually this makes sense. I'm not a doctor or anything, but it sounds like you're putting too much strain on the ligaments in your elbow. If you have stronger triceps the strain should go to the muscles and you should be fine. I think.

I kinda used to get this when I would do bicep curls and tricep dips. It doesn't snap I just feel the high tension strain on that back tendon there.

and yea make sure to do proper stretching.
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

I get this weird pain my left elbow every time I start working out again after a braek... after 3-4 consistent workouts it completely goes away though.

I'm confused. Is it your tricep that hurts or your elbow?

if it hurts, you should probably stop doing it.

find an excersize you can do that works the same muscles but doesn't cause the snapping or whatever.

then see if you still have the same problem after you get stronger

Strengthen your biceps, and don't do exercises that aggravate your triceps. Find other exercises.

I've known a few people where it has gone away if they lay off things like skullcrushers, but also even up any muscle imbalances as well (may be biceps are too weak compared, or triceps are too weak). Identify what your weakness is and work on it.

Use AbTronic or similar.
Or whatever it was, that does the work for you and you get über-muscles.

This is a very typical symptom of locking / straightening your elbows at the top of each push up....
Don't quite straighten your arms....the triceps and especially pecs benefit more the lower you go anyway.

The same kind of thing can happen for your wrists as well....I suggest fist push ups. Hard at first but eventually it's much more effective....strengthens wrists/hands/forearms, allows wider range of motion, and you look like a pimp.

Most likely poor technique, try to work out if its a muscle pain or a joint pain. If its a joint pain, then stop what your doing.

Strengthing the muscle will lead to better form which will basically eliminate most of the popping or cracking that happens alot when lifting and working out. If you are getting this pain from doing push-ups trying doing other tricep exercises (there are many) until you strengthen your tris more.

If you've taken some basic physics you'll see why it doesn't work this way. The weakest link is still going to be the weakest link until it's strengthened.

I'm pretty sure that this has something to do with a drifting ulnar nerve which is basically your nerve bouncing impulse to your spine both extending and retracting at the same time causing the snapping.

I don't think you can fix this without surgery assuming you want to be able to continue lifting. You should definitely get a second opinion though because this is easily misdiagnosed. If you do have a positive diagnosis I'd be very careful about taking advice off of this forums and do whatever your doc says.

Sounds like an issue with bone-on-bone contact, ie the tissue between bones being thin or something.

Do you bench with no straps or gloves? If you do then there is the problem. Benching puts too much weight on your wrists which makes it so everything else on your arms have to reapply support which messes up your form.

But isn't the whole point of free-weight resistance training to engage the stabilizer muscles?

Using straps reduces the workload of the wrist flexors and finger muscles, and that's it. They can be isolated separately.

Nobody does except for powerlifters.

You either go to a gym full of very serious ppl or a huge pussy ass gym. There's no in between if most people you see are benching with straps.

i got this when i first started lifting in 8th grade, as well as a pain i used to get in my wrists while curling. Generally as you improve, it goes away. Just ignore it.

I would say I go to a normal gym where there are both power lifters and regular people. Wearing any sort of wrist support (what I mean by a strap) is what most people do here, I don't know where you go but not wearing one is just stupid especially when lifting that much weight.
