Short story: I'm at school. And have semester living down. But I will have nothing and no place to live over summer (family poor and in another country). When I say no money I mean I'll have some hundreds. But that's it.
Give me tips on how to survive. Where can I live cheaply? Or more likely squat cheaply? Where can I get showers? Basically how do I survive?
My current plan is find another college campus with summer school going on (people have been kicked out of school for doing it where I am) and hang out in dorms and library.

What about getting a summer job?

Deposit $100 on pokerstars. Learn to beat nl25 before June and survive on that.

Go find a university with a music school Generally the opera department will have showers and nice couches in the green room

It'd be an entry level McD job... and that's certainly something I will do. But that won't give me an apartment. Not even w/ 4 roomates.

Uhh....an entry-level job will definitely allow you to afford a place to live...
I mean come on, even if your post-tax wage is $4.00/hour and you work the standard 40 hours per week, you will make ~$640 a month, which is enough to afford a $2500/month apartment (if you have 4 roomates like you say) plus food and other essentials. That's a pretty nice apartment, even.

Might help to tell us where you are first off so we can better estimate costs and perhaps give some tips if any TLers are in the area. Someone might even be so kind to help you out more directly.
Also, what college and what major are you? What year of college are you? I know times are tough especially concerning finding a job but if you give us more info you might get lucky.
Whatever happens, good luck man.

Your way over exaggerating, but this sounds like it might be an awesome adventure. Big summer school with dorms and library is a pretty good deal, but you can always settle in an alley way with bums they'll teach you their ways, how to survive, pan handling tips and such. Watch Into The Wild for more ideas. Just remember not to eat the poisonous berries, they fuck everything up.

Haha, take a trek into Alaska and never come back eh?
I'd suggest getting a job and looking desperately for roommates. Your idea sounds good too though.

Exactly-_-! Perhaps getting McD jobs and quitting all the time would be fun, but grinding it out for 3mths would be lame.... I am reading liquidpoker now, so that's an option too.... I'll be rich quick... just gotta take out some student loans....

actually i think 40 hours is definitely above standard for these kinds of jobs. i think that in the 30's is standard if you're looking for full time but that might be hard to find, especially for summer jobs. it's because the managers don't want to pay for a single minute of overtime, so they schedule in the 30's to make a nice bubble of space.
but yeah, it's still enough money. he could even decline to have any of his paycheck withheld for taxes, since he might make so little on the year that he's not gonna end up having any income tax anyway.

if there's a beach you can live there. Take your baths in the ocean and make a sand blanket. Even better if you can find like a lil cave thing by the shore. Also if you can play guitar you can just husk for money all day when you're not studying.
