There's a quote button for a reason.
I remember being in grade 10 Spanish class, when the principle came on the intercom and reported that the WTC had been hit by planes etc. No one thought much of it (none of us knew much about the WTC, let alone what it stood for) and went back to doing nothing in that class. It was only later, while me a few friends were walking around during lunch, that we realized what had happened when we saw a bunch of people in the school library watching CNN and the events earlier in the day. I came home that day and my mom was sitting on the couch watching CNN...I think I stayed there for at least 5 hours, before finally getting up to leave.

These kinds of threads never accomplish anything.

All discussion threads fit that description.
These are just for fun, and if you don't have any discussion on the topic, don't comment.
On focus: Does anyone actually believe that the US government was responsible for 9/11? That's just stupid.
Edit: fixed spelling error.

wow, I did not realize it was 9/11 until I read this topic.

My dad woke me up in the morning just before school and we watched as the second plane went into the second tower. Was pretty emotional, I'm Canadian, but its still shocking to see that and how the US was hit.

I do, but that's for another discussion in another thread, otherwise this thread truly will become another ban trap. Perhaps you should make that one too...

Hmm. I had grade 12 physics in the morning, then I went home because I had a few hours off. I was playing D2 and people in the channel were all talking about something crazy, I asked if it was "another school shooting?" (Columbine hadn't been too long before it, I don't think) and they all said "no, turn on your TV." I asked what channel and they said "any of them."

Not falling for it!
I remember on the day I woke up and I could hear the tv on. I went out to the living room and the events had already happened, so I watched dumbfounded for about 10 minutes. By the time I got to school there was nobody on the playground or outside at all, and when I walked in we spent about an hour watching the news reports instead of working. Really surreal atmosphere.

Here we remember September 11 because it was the day that the military took over the government. Crappy day September 11

What's your point, that this doesn't warrant a thread? 9/11 changed most of the world completely.
Anyway I remember it so clearly, I was just some little kid playing counterstrike when suddenly everyone started talking about the wtc.

there's a difference between anniversary and commemoration imo and don't think you wanted to say you celebrate a tragic event

You don't seem to understand how well governments control their nuclear weapons.
Edit* or the consequences that government would face if a weapon was leaked.

I live in NYC and I remember exactly when I heard about the planes crashing into the WTC. I was coming in from school and I was still taking off my shoes when I saw my dad already in the house watching TV, and I knew something was up. (My dad usually works that day until like 7 so yeah) My mom asked my dad what was up and my dad said that a building was burning and that he had to walk from work (SoHo) back to our home in Queens. I looked at the TV and saw the buildings burning, but I didn't really feel any emotion. (I was in the 3rd grade)It was just like another terrorist attack that was on the news everyday, but it was years later when I finally knew what went on.. RIP

It happened while I was sleep before my 10:30 class my sophomore year of college. I woke up in time for the second plane hit. I didn't see it live on tv though.
Spent the 10:30 class watching tv on the projector for like 30 minutes before he let us all go. Fucking math prof still had class at 12:30pm. What a heartless motherfucker.
