Keyboard suggestions?

To start this post off, I accidentally spilled orange juice on my keyboard last night so around 75% of the keyboard wouldnt work. So, today, I borrowed a really shitty keyboard (smaller than laptop size 2x) from my friend temporarily until I can get a new one. I want to ask people if there are any good keyboards out that are pretty comfortable and also decent for BW? I was looking through some of the old keyboard threads but was wondering if any people had some new suggestions for a more recent keyboard or something.
Also, if anyone lives in the New York City area, any places where I can get a keyboard pretty cheap?
Please help me, thank you.

Generally you get some pretty good decreasing returns on the amount you spend x quality of keyboard. I've bought $5 keyboards that are good and work for 5 years, I've bought ones that are $40 and work for 4 months...it's really up to personal preference, just make sure you test it out before you buy.

Do what I do: buy whatever you keyboard you come across that has the tacticle response you like, and doesn't look like a piece of shit. Now, buy a second so the next time you dumb your orange juice all over your keyboard, you don't have to borrow a friend's.

I have a saitek eclipse. It's a pretty nice keyboard with the backlighting.

Does anyone have a keyboard with a lot of bounce to it? My keyboard's keys are too soft.

I hate using laptop keyboards; it feels like Im gonna smash it to pieces (or at least wear out a few keys quickly) the way I play. I just got something like the logitech 250 off newegg for 14 bucks after shipping, though in hindsight I probably shouldve sprung out another ten to get the dell keyboard, purely for size.

I had used mine for years, no problems whatsoever and sooooo comfortable. unfortunately the spacekey broke somehow, went straight to the store and bought a new one before even considering any other keyboard.

Take a dell keyboard. There's no better classic, cheap and very good quality keyboard than this one. Logitech come second.
If you like to use extra (useless) butons then go for a logitech.
Really if you want a good keyboard that could last like 3 or 4 years just buy a dell.

Edit : And i know what i'm talkin' about (almost 50 keyboard at my home because of my father's work :p)

The Dell standard keyboard quite an amazing keyboard. I personally have the samsung dt-35 as I got a sweet deal on it (10 bucks) brand new, but if the samsung wasn't 10 bucks i would have bought the dell standard keyboard. Both have a great feel to them.

That Tarantula keyboard by Razer or whatever looks pretty nice. I opened the box at Fry's and messed with it. Its got a bunch of nice bonus shit on it too (like macros, light up keys, etc) I think it was like 50$ or something.
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

What I've done in the past is simply go online to amazon or a big store, scroll through the inexpensive keyboards and find 1-2 that look nice, and get it (them). It's inexpensive and the keyboards you get are pretty conventional. Of course, I also support Dell Keyboards... they are pretty good.

That was like 29.99 after rebates with free shipping on newegg.

If you don't have a creditcard, try CompUSA (there's one near Columbus circle... like... 57/Bway).

Logitech Ultra-X Media Keyboard - Svart / Silver (USB) VISTA Ready

Can really recommend this one. The keys feel great when typing, it's not big and bulky like many "gaming keyboards" (a gaming keyboard should be small to give more room for mouse and mousepad), and finally the keys are all standard layout.
I wouldn´t call him stupid, but let´s just say he´s unlucky when thinking...

i'd take a cheap one for 5-10€. try how much force key pressing reqiures until you find one you like. once it gets disgustingly dirty, or keys start to get stuck, buy a new one on the cheap. and i prefer ps/2 over usb, i need the usb slots for other things and ps/2 works just fine.

I had a g15 and spilt some juice on it. But it was the loveliest thing ever and i loved it so much . It's just so awesome and feels great to type on and looks amazing and the little cpu usage/ media player monitor was great as wel as the extra usb ports

hey does anyone know like a keyboard that basically almost is a laptop keyboard? I can type like 1.25 times as fast with laptop keyboards due to the tiny space between each key
"Oh no, we've drawn Judge Schneider" "Is that bad?" "Well, he's had it in for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog" "You did?" "Yeah...if you replace the word *kinda* with *repeatedly*...and the word *dog* with son"

Do you have small hands? I find laptop keyboards hard to type on because it's all smooshed in... but it's possible I type faster on a real keyboard merely because I'm much more used to it.

Has anyone ever used these roll up keyboards? How's the feel?
I just looked over a computer magazine and saw one of those, fairly cheap and i tought i could order one of those.

Thing is when i play with my laptop i usualy plug it in to another screen and keep the laptop closed. How are the keys? Do you have to hit them dead in the center?

qft, I wouldnt use any other keyboard for this unless the other board is like 100% better or something. These dell boards are so study and the buttons are so easy to use.

amazingly enuf out of all the drinks I have spilled on keyboards, sweet TEA is by far the most damaging - try cleaning it anyways, if it don't work, then buy (make sure it's quiet and you physically try it out first - only you will know whats fits ur needs best)

I do kind of like that with my Dell keyboard, except I take apart the whole thing in 3 pieces and clean the half that contain the keys with water and just let it dry and then pop the pieces back together, clean.

doesnt work with more complex keyboards though.
