I guess every littil bit helps, but it just seems like a waste of time. I think the webpages that talk about the criminal activitys and deaths surrounding the COS help alot more then crashing some webpages. Until i saw those websites i just thought of Scientology as some strange new religion. Its infromation like that that can change peoples minds and make people look at Scientology more as a cult then a religion. Btw wtf is ebaumsworld?

Man, these kind of activists are usually quite insane and think they have the true answers and I don't think they are better than Scientologists. I think it's a bunch of psychopaths who just happened to have chosen Scientology as their target so that they can wreak havoc and create chaos for the fun of it. They might as well have chosen another cult or whatever, I think they just think it's a fun thing to do to be honest although they might not admit to it. This is all bullshit and I bet those guys called Anonymous all look like big fat nerds and think they're cool when they post a video with a robotic voice There is freedom of religion and yes betaben I mean people can believe what they want Anyways, it's not up to some anonymous group on the internet to fucking decide what's right or wrong I think this all is so retarded tbh

But you have to see everything in context, people get so focused on just one thing, in this case Scientology What about Christianity, Islam and the other major religions. Don't you think they got alot more blood on their hands compared to Scientology all in all?

Don't you think they got alot more blood on their hands compared to Scientology all in all? If no one else is doing anything about it, why not "some random people on the internet". I think Scientology is still in such an infant age, that there is still hope to supress it before it gets out of hand, as outrageous as Scientology is to us now, it could very well be the norm in 50 years time. But maybe its just another system of control, as more and more people are turning away from the traditional religions, perhaps they had to come up with something new. I sort of have a theory as to why people are attracted to Scientology and it might have something to do with the fact that you pay, maybe people are in such a mindset that if you're paying for it, it must be real. /shrug.

Only two guys to a fight. 5. One fight at a time. 6. No tits, no -chan. 7. Fights go on as long as they have to. 8. If this is your first night at /b/, you have to fight. funny thing is, no one used to take them seriously. now every third post is RULES ONE AND TWO ONLY APPLY TO RAIDS!!!W its sad really 4chan has gotten really, really lame in the past year. you arent missing anything. except reposts reposts "4 chan has gotten really, really lame in the past year" Or maybe you've finally grown up enough to realize how lame it is? People who bother to "protest" scientology clearly have nothing better to do. Who the fuck cares if a bunch of idiots waste their money on a bullshit religion. Its not like they're going to harm you or take over the world or anything. Freedom of Religion is one thing. But honestly, pick your fucking battles people. Is scientology really the worst thing you have to worry about? Pretty sad really. Now I understand that there are some who have been directly and adversely affected by scientology. Maybe a mother who's son has fallen into that trap and wastes a shitload of his money on it and can't really support himself because of it. But, not to sound like a dick (although I probably am), this son is obviously a huge idiot, and scientology is probably one of the better things he could be into. As opposed to meth, or heroine. Or sniffing glue. Or any other retarded thing people do to waste time/money/ or their lives. At least scientology provides some structure and a feeling of acceptance. And who knows maybe one day he'll become a famous actor and marry a beautiful actress so nobody thinks hes gay. You know, just to throw them off.

Also, JensofSweden, I would argue a significant amount of the push by anonymous in this situation isn't as much to adjudicate a right or wrong as it is to inform people of what the CoS has done. Both the partvan wiki and a lot of the discussion on the chans themselves seems to reinforce this is as much about informing people of what the Church of Scientology has done so they can decide for themselves as it is creating chaos and misery for the CoS itself.

They used to be semi-joke rules. Now they are taken seriously and are constantly repeated by 14 year olds. Its also been warped so it only applies during raids, which is of course stupid, but 4chan is so full of new users that people pretend thats how its always been. 4chon = 4chan. Came from some shitty convention movie where these people tried to throw around memes, failed, and pronounced 4chan wrong. 4chan started as an anime/hentai site and quickly started growing a lot of memes. For a long time, 4chan was just college students acting dumb, and you would see really clever macros and joke posts. We started getting a whole bunch of underage (or mentally underage users) especially after the habbo raids and lost a lot of old posters. We lost even more after desu. Meanwhile, 4chan became more and more oriented to the new users - instead of clever posts, we had meaningless raids -habbo, stickam, random anime forums. Now 4chan is just repeating memes. The new user is the reason threads like "This is my /b/ face" exist. Instead of smart people acting dumb, its now dumb people acting dumb. ebaumsworld is a video site basically. They find other people's content, steal it, take it for their own. Basically what happened is ebaums world stole a lohan gif. this one, but it didnt have the ytmnd tags then. Then ytmnd got together with SA, fark, lue, and a couple of 4channers, and like ddosed ebaums. 4chan didnt really have that much involvement, but we got a lot of users from ytmnd. Most were total idiots, and promoted more raids. They started raiding random sites, and everytime they raided a site, they would come back with more idiots. Habbo was the biggest raid, and is probably the biggest marker of a shift in quality on 4chan. As for why 4chan would hack stage6? Anonymous isnt unified, and never has been. So it doesnt surprise me.

I'm a psych major, so...... yea. Other than that I don't really like scientology because there are a lot of fishy things that go down around it; like how L. Ron Hubbard's wife was charged with breaking and entering(among other things) in the IRS building to steal personal information on their enemies at the time. I believe she is still serving time for that one. I don't like how they purposly spread lies and misinformation about anybody who has a bad word to say about CoS, critics exist to keep a (duh) critical eye on everything. I don't like that their front group Narcanon uses bad techniques to get people to break drug habits (cold turkey). It is excruiciatingly painful (and sometimes fatal) for heroin addicts to go cold turkey, so weening them off is the proven best way to do it; Narcanon doesn't think so. Also, I don't like any organization that makes you pay for salvation. Or, for that matter, encourages you to serperate yourself from your family network if they are not part of the scientologist movement. The above is what Anonymous is protesting, not the fact that its a new religion. Anon would not get any traction if they were simply protesting a quirky new religion, they are protesting the conduct of the "church". Good day
