Mountain Mike's is great, great pizza. Mostly in California though I believe they now have one or two in Nevada and Arizona, possibly Oregon as well. The pepperoni actually has a taste to it, unlike so many chain restaurants.
I despise Pizza Hut and Domino's and Little Caesar's, though Round Table is pretty good. It's like Mountain Mike's Jr.
The top of the top in my opinion is Pizza California, a mom and pop restaurant in North San Jose. My coworkers and I used to go there every week, the pizza is just that good. The cheese is thick, crust is firm but not too firm, just shy of it being gooey. This is the kind of pizza you may have to eat with a knife and fork. Delicious. They have some award for being #2 in Silicon Valley though I don't think I ever found out who was #1. So, by default, they've become my #1. =]

dude, u have got to be kidding? domino's? they skimp u on so much topping and cheese, it is just bread you get -_-;; i orderd a sasuage and onion pizza before and i only had like 15 tiny sasuage pieces throughout the whole goddamn pizza. fuckiing dispicable.

robs pizza in michigan small private shop. Best pizza ever. the pizza is so greasy its dripping with flavor.

I don't think dominos/pizza hut are that bad. The problem alot of independants have around here is their pizzas taste too salty , so i'm inclined to say the chains are better than some of the independants.

The Nonna pizza :D
but that's in my country, and you guys can't have it ! :D

Here in Montreal I would have to go with Little Ceasar's they are easily my favorites.

to clarify, pretty much every chain pizza place is disgusting.
My god yes. People would drive from other boroughs just to get a slice of his pizza. That's how damn good they were!

Like my opinion (when I went to Italy for a month) that true Italian food sucks shit.
And the reason why you don't like NY pizza is probably because you're used to all the bland Italian food.
Really, who the fuck wants to eat a loaf of bread with a three inch layer of uncooked mozzarella? Or "real" spaghetti with crap sauce? No thanks, I'll take my Americanized version any day. The reason why I don't like NY pizza is because there's nothing special about it. The toppings are good, the dough is good, but it stops there. Coal ovens do make a huge difference I'll give you that. It's just that there's nothing ' bang ' about NY pizzas. It all tastes like something any person who has some cooking ability could make if they really tried. I'm actually Korean and from what I can tell you there's nothing bland about Korean cuisine. Since you like NY pizza, what is it about the pizza that you like? I'm curious simply because people that I ask in person who have been to NY just say that it's good because it's so big. For an ' opinion ' that says it's good cuz it's a big slice, that's pretty weak in my book.
Because it tastes good. Simple as that.
To Equinox_kr, do you go to PS3? Or whatever that school is near the police department? But then again, that's an elementary school. Or do you go to Fordham? Those really the only two schools I can think of within two blocks of that place. Except for Mt. Ursula, but that's an all girls' school.

i just had some pizza hut
worst pizza ever

Pizza hut pizza really sucks and its expensive. Dominos is a little better but still not very good. Out of the big franchises Papa John's is probly the best. For me though a little place called Pizza Po in Ansan is my favorite, 10 000 won (about 11$) potato pizza delivered to your door with a free coke.. just too damn easy..

im telling you all next time you see magahrita pizza(tomatoes basil and mozzarella) please try it, you wont be let down

The great thing about New York Pizza is it has a crisp crackly exterior and a soft chewy interior, all in a thin crust.
And I must say, Lombardi's is the most overrated place I've ever eaten. The pizza was good yea, but it was more expensive and not as good as the average hole in the wall

Btw...

Not a Pizza:
Just to get some discussion going. =)

Unless you live in brooklyn why would you go all the way for a pizza, there are tons of better food out there to drive to. Really, pizza is not that special :S

Well, the entire group really liked the Pizza, it's our first Pizza in NY though.
We all live in Manhattan and we don't own a car. This Pizza place is conveniently close to the F train, as well, we wanted to see the Brooklyn bridge and the Foulton landing (is that what it's called?).
Care to recommend a few of these good eateries that are accessible by train ?
