I'm sure alot of you heard about Stage 6, the site with all the movies and videos. I think its a good alternative to Youtube, the uploading time is short (while thats only if the file is avi or a divx file), its pretty similar so I don't see the problem with uploading any matches or vids there?

The only problem that there is, (if you consider it a problem) is if the video is not .avi, then you need to use a program called Dr.divx to convert it into one, and that takes quite a while but otherwise its fine. So why isn't anyone uploading anything on that site? Its free obviously, it seems better then crunchyroll.

I did a survey on them not too long ago. Well, I think it was them, anyhow.

They just asked me a bunch of questions, like if I would like a site similar to Youtube, and such. I didn't really care, but it made me $2. >.>

You have to install the "DivX Web Player"? That's kind of a hastle, but not really too big of a deal I guess. Resolution is excellent though. The converting thing is kinda stupid. Does it have to be DivX? There are a bunch of types of ".avi" files. People like Youtube because of its awesome streamlined AJAX interface. And because of its huge library of content. Stage 6 on the other hand is just some lesser known proprietary component of the DivX company intended to promote use of the codec. My personal favorite online video uploading site is Facebook Video. Higher resolution than Youtube, great for your circle of friends, and fast uploading times.

Stage6 is superior in terms of quality, inferior in terms of availability (obviously), and also inferior in that there is no external embedding available (yet?). As Stage6 grows, the 1st problem diminishes, and so hopefully will the 2nd. Overall, I <3 stage6 and everyone should seriously check it out, because the quality compression of YouTube is just horrible.

So why don't you guys upload vods to stage 6? Upload time is really fast compared to youtube, it take likes 24 friggin hours for me (on youtube).

Definitely worth it to get the divx web player and start watching videos on stage6. The quality's pretty damn amazing, and when you full screen, it is completely full screen. Feels like you have the file downloaded on your comp.

I do. I'm using Ubuntu and that shit randomly freezes for some reason, I'm using gstreamer-totem my progress bar doesn't even work.

veoh loads even slower. considering the size of streamed media on s6 is many times greater than same duration media on youtube, s6 is really quite fast. you can download from s6, the full files, by tweaking divx player dl options. just rename the files later

That place is great. The little extra wait is more than worth it, I hate watching the crappy resolution at youtube. Youtube is good for attention starved teenagers being retards in front of their cameras, but for things like Starcraft vods it blows chunks.
