About the joining team, well i find it's a good idea because it may be encouraging girl ppl to play a little more and why not with good ppl that could make "her" "him" good.
We all know that meting a real girl in this game seems like as many chance as to win a lottery with Millions involved.

However i'd not give her more credits or whatever because she's a simple person before everything with the same feelings as we men have. Why would we pay more attention to girls than to anyone else, especially when you know the chance about meting her would be like 0,1% ? Even worse.
Only way to have proof would be some webcams and getting them asap. But they may act like "no i don't know you, i don't show my face to unknown ppl blablabla". So it's a "vicious ring" (dunno its spelling, correct me if i'm wrong).

My advice : When you see a girl, just play/talk/whatever like if she's nothing but a simple person. Otherwise u'd easily get fooled.

That's why i've almost never talked to Zia as far as i know... Because it was too good to be true. I mean a good looking blonde scandinavian one playing BW ? No way.

Wow... crazy, crazy stuff. Not sure what to make of it all exactly. I read your PM earlier this evening, but then had stuff to do, and now it's almost 3am and I'm half asleep. After reading, I jotted down some points to bring up in our MSN conversation, but haven't seen you logged in yet.

Rather than type them up a big long PM, ima just copy/paste the stuff I put down. Meant to be notes for myself, so parts might not make sense, but hopefully you'll understand most of it. Basically I don't think we should go public with anything, at least for the near future. I don't think there's any _real_ immediate harm being done, or any definite urgency to the situation. This is something we should think about and mull over for awhile, while keeping a close eye on the current situation ("her" thread). And certainly, we should confront her about the entire thing before even thinking about doing anything public, if we'd even want to do that. I agree this is a very big deal, and we should proceed with caution.

Anyway, the notes: (sorry they're messy =/)

- if zia's accident turns out to be not true... no skin off my back. honestly did feel bad of course, like everyone else... i'm more of an empathetic type person, would've felt the same way about any high profile regular on tl posting the same thing... no personal attachment to zia (never pmed, exchanged posts, etc), but she's a regular here and i've read lots of posts

- here's my take on it... i'd pretty much be quite opposed to "going public" with anything at least for quite awhile
- there is that slim chance that many things could be true (with lies mixed in)
- this person hasn't caused any harm, this is actually the only thing i've ever seen that calls attention to herself that way (we've had lots of insecure/needy users, murph, ppl commenting on rpf, and this is way different than that)
- logically, how "meaningful" is a bunch a sympathy from ppl, for something completely fake?
- let's say you want attention, so you posts such a story... even if you're a lunatic, how would that honestly make you feel better about anything? "oh look, they're sad for smthg that didn't even happen"

- someone "this person" has made over 3000 posts, and been around for years... this is certainly not some kind of "hoax" like some person sitting back thinking, haha, look how many ppl i'm fooling thinking i'm a girl... like some enormous elaborate joke... this could very well be a real person, thinking they're living their life out, how they want to
- many transvestites out there, men who really think they're girls in mens bodies, or who think they want to be a girl
- if this person is indeed a male, pretending to be a female this whole time, they have very real psychological issues, again this isn't some kind of big joke...
- could be a form of schizophrenia, this person could have medically diagnosed "multiple personalities" these are real things... (again, i don't think this is someone sitting back laughing to themselves think "look how well i'm fooling all these ppl"... this is someone living out a life)

- i've got a brother-in-law who runs his own psychology/counseling practice, i'm sure he knows a ton about this kind of stuff... maybe I should email him and ask his opinion about the whole thing...

- real or fake, bringing this out in public would completely devastate this person... and with these kind of issues we're talking about, suicidal could be on the list as well...
- I would 100% for certain, at the very least, confront this person about the entire issue, before saying anything at all in public...
- she's been around ages, this isn't something that is super urgent... i see no need for us to rush into posting news or exposing her in some way... i say we let the current thread be for now...
- even if she's a "he" some of these events could really happen to him, but of course it would come out as happening to "zia", could be tragic, like they don't even like living a lie, but don't know how to stop it, that it's gone on for so long...
- if this is true, it's that single person who's life is a lie, not the rest of us... they're the only one truly suffering... the rest of us aren't... and i'm sure there are ppl who indeed view themselves as friends with this person...
- i've never spoken (on the phone) or met in person anyone from tl.net, but i would still view many as friends, and a meaningful relationship...

- even if it comes out through private discussions that is person is not who she says she is, i'm not sure announcing it to the wider public would be the right thing to do anyway, like i said, i think this "life" this person is living could quite possibly be a very "real" thing for them... losing it would be absolutely devastating regardless...
- if we do find out privately, and confront her about it directly, i think we can control any real harm from coming of it (ppl giving her money, her ever making any more elaborate lie threads to gain fake sympathy, etc). if we do find out and confront her, we'd be very clear that she isn't to do any of those things, or we will certainly expose her... not so much as a "threat" but as a way to protect our community from any intentional "scamming"... those of us who run the site and know about her "problem" can have an agreement/undstanding with her, that certain lines aren't to be crossed.... ... anyway, drifting now, that's my initial thinking, at least until i've given the whole thing some more thought and sought out some "professional" advice on how to deal with a person who has these "conditions"
- no harm, not trying to steal ppls money (ppl saying stuff in the thread about money certainly wasn't brought about by her)
- lets give this some more thought and approach it very carefully
