Never heard anything at all about it before which would lead me to think it is bullshit There is a so called 'Auld Alliance' between Scotland and France that was built around this time as both sides battled England but whether this is anything to do with it I do not know.

Of course I have no backing up for that and they have made shows based on holy grail holy blood and other pseudo science and stuff.
