Hello TL! Even though most of us spend alot of time playing SC2, we can still party, right?
Sadly I couldn't attend Tomorrowland this year due to work, but I'm sure as hell going next year!
If you haven't heard of Tomorrowland before (in which case I'll be very disappointed), here's som info
''The 2012 edition will take place Friday, July 27, Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29. Boasting an impressive line-up of 400 DJs, Some names who are already known are Avicii, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Steve Aoki, Carl Cox, The Bloody Beetroots, Paul van Dyk, Pendulum and Skrillex. Because of the enormous success of Tomorrowland and the fact that it is a Belgian Festival, ID&T decided to give Belgians an exclusive chance with a presale (80,000 of the 180,000 tickets) on Saturday, March 24. In less than one day, all of the tickets sold out and at some moments there were 2 000 000 people on the online waiting list. The worldwide sale started Saturday, April 7 at 11am. Within less than 2 hours, the other 100 000 tickets sold out.''
Tomorrowland has partnered up with youtube, and are broadcasting parts of the festival live !:D
The current 'track' has had 0 rhythmic changes in 5+ minutes. I don't know who this bald dude is but he should give up and turn himself in for being monotonous.
I'm not quite sure why they aren't following the schedule.. there's several sides to ''house'' and tech house isn't my favorite, rather slow and not that much variety, but wait until it's dark and Aoki/Avicii starts playing, then you'll hopefully change your attitude :D
Takes place in Belgium, close to Antewerpen I believe. Can't wait for Avicii's set, 5 bucks says that he'll open with his remix of Rob Dougan-Clubbed to Death!!

A very common conception unfortunately, some djs have prerecorded sets, some don't. The EDM scene is such a unique case, but I don't really mind if it's prerecorded to be honest, sure it's not as ''authentic'' but they'll still give you one heck of a show

its blocked for germany obviously, youtube doesn't allow any livestream to be watched in germany. probably because their content flagging only works for VODs and thus they can't validate and flag content for which GEMA wants to be paid. So they just don't do any live streaming as a prevention to not get caught streaming anything that is unpaid for.

Bump Mc Bump! Tickets were released a couple of days ago, did anyone here manage to snatch one? I don't think anyone out of the 20+ people I knew wanted to go managed to get one (including me)

Regads, Sad Coal
Yeah, during the pre-sale for Belgium only, I grabbed two tickets (2 x full pass madness for the tree days) + camping for 2 personns for the 5 days. :p
It was crazy. Sold out super fast. Not sur if I'll be able to attend though I really hope. It's gonna be amazing.
Me and my friends got to the front of the queue for tickets and the website wouldn't let us pay through Visa so we got screwed. Also one of my friends is Belgian so we could have all got tickets in the pre-sale if we'd known they would be transferrable to non Belgians.
The full madness passes are going for like 1000 euro now though so I would have probably sold mine and booked a holiday futher afield than Belgium.
I was planning on going this year but the tickets got sold out after 1 hour . They released the tickets at 17:00 CET. Me and a couple of friends were waiting in queue since 17:00 and one hour later we refreshed they page and it said that the tickets had been sold out... Tomorrowland is really popular it seems.

The whole ticketing system was really bad, not only did a lot of people have problems paying but the ticket queue didn't come up on time. Apparently when it did come up the queue filled up in about a second but one of my friends managed to join the queue about a minute earlier than everyone else and never got to buy tickets even though one of us who joined later ended up getting through. I'm guessing he was really near the front and when it tried to transfer him through to the ticket store it crashed because everyone was still trying to refresh and join the queue at that point.
The lineup looks awesome too; Avicii, Otto Knows, Eric Prydz, Benga, Alesso, probably a Swedish House Mafia reunion since I'm guessing Steve Angello will get announced eventually. Basically every huge name DJ you can think of will be there.
TomorrowWorld looks interesting though, I'm guessing its probably going to be in the US but it would be really cool if they had another festival in Europe, maybe Spain or Italy.
edit:aaaand they've just announced Steve Angello, if Swedish House Mafia don't do a set together it would be criminal.
Is there anyone on TL planning to watch the live from Youtube for the 2013 edition ?
The Lineup seems very solid, with a lot of legendary names of EDM such as Armin Van Buuren, Tiësto , Aviici, Markus schulz,... the list is pretty long.
As far as I know, the mainstage will be a huge volcano this year !
Though, the weather does not seem like its gonna be friendly towards the 180k+ people from all over the world who are gathering there at the moment, rain and storms are scheduled for the event.
Maybe some fellow TL'ers managed to get their hands on a pass ?
Watched the stream for a bit last year and it was pretty annoying, they were switching stages mid-set and had stupid interviews with DJs who all gave the same "OMG best festival ever"-answers all the time.
I'll just wait for the sets to be released afterwards and listen to the interesting ones.
Anyone listening to the radio stream today? http://live.tomorrowlandradio.com/, seems the video stream on youtube won't start for a while. Though it's a bit annoying they keep switching from stage to stage like every 10 minutes.
