You're voting for Romney because you think Obama has lied too much?
You don't pay that much attention to what Romney says, do you?
Can you explain why "just vote" is logical though? Voting for a 3rd party candidate who literally has 0% chance of winning is the most pointless voting ever. It would be like just staying home. It means just the same. Explain how voting for somebody that will not win makes any sense?

Libya, Benghazi. Enough said. Not going to debate with somebody who calls Romney a liar because that's the classic response.

I do not like all parties in Sweden but I am not horribly worried if one of the 8th parties gets a little more influence in one election then they did in the one before.
US is more crazy because the republicans are... well statements like "I do not believe in science". If you said that in the swedish government/senate someone would point at the door and say that you can bring your office stuff home with you. This is only one out of many Mitt Romney statements you just CANNOT say and work as politician in Sweden.
The fact that a guy that said he does not believe in science might be in charge for the most powerful country on earth is concerning to me to say the least.
I'm not a Republican and I don't recall Mitt Romney ever being opposed to science. A few Republican congressman lean that way and one of them came out and said it this cycle, you might be thinking of him.
I saw it in a documentary yesterday, I can see if find the clip again. Think it was called "The way to the whitehouse". I guess he actually refers to that he does not believe in evolution, which to me is kind of weird to me but at least that makes a lot more sense.
That sounds a lot more likely. There are definitely crazy politicians who have said they don't trust science, but that's just their general ignorance and not a reflection of any policy that their party has. However a lot of people do seem to get that idea because it's those crazies that scream the loudest. The more extreme ends of both political parties are equally batshit - or maybe not equally, I'll say the extreme end of the Republican party is probably a bit more batshit than their Democrat equivalents. Republicans are definitely the loudest though.
Republicans anti science is laaargely policy neutral, or at least it often is [skepticism of evolution for example doesnt always mean support for creationism in schools] but democrats anti science crusade usually results in policy discussions > ex: being for natural foods, against fracking, nuclear power plants, etc etc.
How is being opposed to the applikation of certain technologies that you deem harmful the same as doubting the validity of the scientific process?

So everybody thinks Romney is a liar? Because where I'm from, it's mainly republican, and I don't know how many signs that say "Fire Obama" are all over my city. And it's been proven Obama has lied to AMERICANS. I don't care what Romney did, nothing is as bad as the whole Benghazi thing.

It must be tiring defending someone who changes positions more frequently than underwear.

Um, Obama "lied" about Benghazi in part to try to stop CIA operations from being jeopardized-that's why Romney stopped bothering with the issue because he found out that it was coming out eventually.

Romney currently either made Paul Ryan lie in the vice presidential debate about Roe v. Wade or is lying on his web site. He also lied in the presidential primaries about who was going to have to pay increased taxes and what his approach would be to foreign policy and working with Democrats.

So the president should have responded to Romney's political attack by releasing classified information about secret CIA bases and gunfights between terrorists and CIA agents?

I hate politics. I avoid it like the plague. I have the most cynical view of our government possible and believe that the presidential election is essentially a choice between the lesser of two evils.
That said, I had to force myself to the polls today because Romney is a nutcase.
Obama should have sent in reinforcements for that embassy. It's already been proven there were drones in the air that could have helped. But no, he didn't do it. As for Romney changing positions. Again, classic liberal response. I have not seen Romney change positions, and I've met Romney so I hold personal respect for him. Obama's lie about Benghazi was crap. Saying it wasn't a terrorist attack for 2 weeks after it happened, when there was a terrorist group claiming responsibility the day it happened. I'm not defending Romney. He can do that himself. He'll be blamed. But here's the last thing I wanna say about this whole election. Everybody says Bush left our government in a bad mess, that's why Obama hasn't done a good job. So give him 4 more years. When/If Romney gets elected, you better as heck say Obama left it in a mess. Don't be partial to one side.

And this is why nothing changes really. I'm glad your content with the way things are, some of us aren't. It's really not that hard to make sense of it.

Did you notice that Romney didn't bring up Libya in the foreign policy debate?
Did you also hear that two of the Americans that were killed were not armed forces, but actually CIA operatives, aka US spies?
Did you hear that the 'cultural center' the Ambassador was developing was actually, likely, a planned spy headquarters?
The reason why Romney shut up about it suddenly is the same reason why Obama is so tight lipped about it -- the Americans that were involved where involved in a covert operation, and blathering on and on about it would probably jeopardize the security of CIA operatives or military personnel in the field.

Not voting personally. Makes no sense in this day and age. Candidates will say anything to get into office. I can't recall a president ever making promises, and then keeping them to the point that I actually said "wow, he did what he said he would do. I'm impressed". If you held a gun to my head, I'd probably pick Obama. Not for any good reason, just because he seems nice enough and I'm incredibly biased against Romney for his religious beliefs. I could never vote for a mormon. That's like voting for a scientologist.
Inb4 it has no impact on how the country is run. It speaks to his state of mind. Mormonism is a pretty kooky cult. And it legitimately scares me that people don't think that's a problem.
It is for me. Not voting for Romney or Obama is like throwing your vote out the window. Sure, you can feel good cause you exercised your right to vote. And sure, you still get to vote on the amendment stuff. But in the end, you didn't help the President get elected whatsoever.

Romney told Ryan to say in the debates that he was not going to appoint a justice to overturn existing precedent. His website directly says he wants to appoint a justice to overthrown Roe v. Wade. If you haven't seen him change positions, you are literally blind.
Also, if you want to see Romney eloquently defend the individual mandate to healthcare as a societal obligation, feel free to search for some of his MA speeches.

What mess? A tepidly growing economy after the freefall from 2008?
A lack of war in the middle east?
A relatively well managed recovery of the east coast after a major natural disaster?
