First of all, two of those are Super PAC ads ...
And if you think that's trolling ... oh boy ... wait until you see this SHIZZAT!

I kind of thought that was the whole point. If you like the job Obama is doing or think he is doing better than Romney would, than vote for him. If you don't, you don't.
What if you don't like the job either of them are doing/will do?
Sucks to be you, move to canada.
LOL. They always say they will. But they never, never do.
how's the university system doing?
It's pretty good. Still affordable, and significantly cheaper for Canadians than going to the US. For international students, the tuition is comparable or cheaper than most state universities. U of T, McGill and UBC have excellent world rankings when you consider the cost.

edit: because the US is starting to do a pretty good job of making it an attractive idea to look for a professorship in a different country...
So I have been correct in calling you Professor Sam. And here I thought I was just being cute.
no, that title would be premature, unfortunately. We're thinking about the future here.
Seriously, though, I think America should start worrying about brain drain... not that mine will be any great loss in particular. But conditions for academics are starting to get more precarious...
No, I will call you Professor and you will like it!
But, yes, the state of academics is worrying. We're all falling into Santorum's trap.

That first video is one of the best campaign ads I've ever seen, lol.
The second one is kind of meh, but I don't see what's trolling about it.
Well, if you think going to foreign countries and acknowledging that the US hasn't always seen eye to eye with the rest of the world is 'an apology'; or ending torture was a bad idea, or that a picture of Obama and Bibi board at a press photo shoot = nuclear Iran, or that Romney would do anything differently, than sure, I guess it's on the level.

Obama has definitely been an apologist, and that's accurate. The rest of the second view was pretty dumb though, you're right.
538 just went up to 294.1 for Obama. Its been slowly going up since Oct 13,where it was at its lowest cast for Obama. Interestingly, one pundit (forget who) said debate bounces typically last 10 days. That is strange how perfectly it squares with the 538 projection time line.
RCP moved North Carolina from lean Romney to Tossup.
For some reason, Ryan has been absent in the swing states. He is doing a fund raising tour in the deep red states.
I would say there has been a lot of developments this week that should help Obama poll a lot better soon as well.

It's one of the most vile, misleading pieces of campaigning I've ever seen. Shots of gas lineups, riot police, a sunset on the statue of liberty with Obama's picture, a hammer smashing a T.V. with Obama? It's just random crap edited together to stir emotion and manipulate ignorant people who don't care for reason. Iran with the radioactive symbol? Random shit blowing up! OMG must be Obama's fault. A shot of a cross being cut down. Well obviously Obama ordered it right? Shots of foreclosures? As though that didn't happen during and because of the previous Republican tenure? People yelling at the NYSE!! Wow, that never happens! I love all the shots of the violent brown people then a quick cut to a defenseless white girl with scars on her face. Could probably write a whole paper deconstructing that one.

It seems like what most conservatives consider 'apologizing', most other people consider 'being honest' or 'stating the obvious'. Obama essentially said, yeah -- we fucked over some countries <-- not the same as apologizing.

Typical of the Republican penchant for fear mongering and wild exaggeration.
Here I was thinking Obama's entire campaign strategy was make people afraid of Romney through wild exaggeration, personal attacks and guilt by association. I am glad you were here to let us know fear mongering and exaggeration is a Republican Thing.

Pretty much. You cannot say that this is a Republican thing, especially not after what Obama has been doing against Mitt Romney.

If that's what you've thought about Obama's campaign you've been largely mistaken. He's been criticized by his party for not being on the offensive enough. His campaign has largely been about waiting for the Republicans to either stretch the truth or outright lie and then attempt to publically debunk it. So yeah, there's a difference.

(Seriously, if a politician in Canada ever ran ads like this, they would be mocked and shamed out of politics)
