some drunk ranting:
Nike Acronym lunar force 1s are in every SuFu fit. It's a hypebeast sneaker but still look sick and I want them to go with the Undercover bomber. The orange/white, not the black/white.
I hope the Undercover bomber will work out but I'm guessing it'll fit awkward. I think Jun Takahashi has as good of an eye as Raf or any other high fashion/streetwear designer.
Workwear is inherently contradictory, if only because you're paying high fashion prices most of the time to dress like the working class.
I guess I get Margiela more now in that it's mostly interested in the artistic process, pollack gats, unfinished sleeves on coats, etc. Some conceptual pieces but pretty conservative overall as a standard Euro label.
The tailored/leisure thing is getting out of a hand, not that into trousers that look like sweatpants even though I have some. Lemaire/uniqlo kinda exposed the world to the aesthetic.
There seems to be two kinds of ideas behind styling seen on blogs, and maybe in general: class yearning and age yearning. Dressing like you're the upper or working class, anything but the middle class. And dressing like you're younger or older, most of the time younger. Class is an unavoidable subtext in any art, but the age thing is pretty dumb. Means nothing to be "inspired by youth" as the youth are dumb and don't know what they are.
Style is hard, I have no style, trying to acquire some. I'm still trying to figure out what I like, but it's easier having handled a lot of things. There's always a tension between inheriting an aesthetic, whether of labels or forums, and choosing to be countercultural.

i wanted the dark grey but they didnt have in store when i went :[
my gustin chinos came in https://www.weargustin.com/store/2577
the color is more brown than the pictures suggest, but it might be my lighting making the shade a bit more yellow. need to see it in natural light. fit is spot on (could have gotten a 31 instead of 30 but it works), quality feels great. i just need to have them hemmed/tapered in

some interesting pocket positions on the shirts, under the breast lol
i didn't feel any pieces in particular. maybe the short jackets with lapels. looked pretty nice in general though? i thought the fat-vertical-striped shirts (i think gold/green) looked kind of tacky but maybe it's just me.

I'm a bit color blind, and I never really know how to match colors.
What colors goes with what? Specifically:
1. Dark blue shirt + what color pants? 2. Red shirt + grey casual dress pants okay? 3. Brown casual dress pants + what safe colors? Is red okay? 4. Brown/Dark yellowish boots, what colors top/bottom to avoid with them? 5. Light blue shirt + brown pants is okay?
Any other color matching general advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Brown goes with mustard yellows and neon oranges.

1. Dark blue shirt + what color pants? black, tan, olive, and if it's more navy than midnight (closer to black), even white. depends on the shirt material
2. Red shirt + grey casual dress pants okay? shades of brown would blend more whereas shades of black would contrast more
3. Brown casual dress pants + what safe colors? Is red okay? i tend to avoid red (hard to work in without standing out), but yeah red works if it's not a very bright shade. other colors: navy/blues, white, yellow, and even pink if your skin tone allows.
4. Brown/Dark yellowish boots, what colors top/bottom to avoid with them? don't do brown pants and green top. post a picture of the boots for a bit more here
5. Light blue shirt + brown pants is okay? yep
Any other color matching general advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
colors also depend on your build (particularly height), the fabric of the clothes, etc. pictures always help

oh ya this is random but i was gonna say--it looks like they fixed the tags on the UxL SS collection. maybe i'm picky but i thought the FW tags could be pretty uncomfortable/scratchy, e.g. on the mock neck
|
I'm interested to see the fit/pricing on the pants this time.
Probably the most interesting pieces in from UxL outside of hooded-coat core. Not my thing

How does your height affect color choice?
|
Harder to wear contrasting colors (white shoes, black pants) when short. Continuous lines from pants to feet give height.
Same thing with upper/lower. I can't wear colors that are too distinct for fear of bisecting my body. On the plus side most of what I wear go together fine because I buy colors in gradients. For example right now my bean boots are a few shades of brown off from my pants, which are a deeper camel brown, on top I have blue/red checks on a white flannel, which continues the mixed earth tones feel.

Reference to above questions:
Basic concepts for men's fashion are lighter top/darker pants and shoes same color or darker than pants.
Black/White and monochromatic aesthetics are always popular on fashion forums.
Also basic color coordinations like Brown/Green for fall-ish feelings, and lighter pastels like pink/light red with a brighter color pant in the spring and summer.
Winter tends to be hues of grey and black primarily.
Generic matching would be something like this:
White Shirt/Indigo jeans/brown shoes
White Shirt/Black Jeans/White Sneaks
Blue Top/Green Pants/Brown shoes
light blue shirt/faded lighter wash jeans/Shoes to match lighter feel
As a beginner I tend to shy away from darker colors for tops (Black/Red particularly/Green, etc)
The most Common color pallete is basically White/Blue Shirt + Blue/Black Jeans + Brown/Black Shoes. You can go from there likely

Grailed just dropped a mobile app apparently. I'm not huge on buying stuff from my phone, and especially annoyed by store-specific apps, but I imagine it would be useful for quick access to the store and what have you.
