idk but they turn brown when the leather ages, otherwise pretty cool, and also really expensive.
I wandered into a random suitsupply, apparently in asia they don't offer mtm. None of their shit fit me and I wasn't too into the yuppie aesthetic; which makes me wonder, what kind of suits should I wear to avoid looking like a yuppie? Just something not too fitted? I tried on some Jil stuff that was pretty good but was wondering if there are cheaper alternatives. Thinking of going to a traditional tailor here.

how is a suit like a napoli (their most popular cut) considered yuppie
decent length, wide lapel, not that slim

what was everyone's christmas hauls?
i ended up getting 3 gitman shirts, an our legacy funnel jacket, an EG jacket and got a pair of CP tournament highs off grailed
i had them sent to a friend and he brought it over for christmas still in their boxes/packages, so the unpacking was fun

I tried on several napolis and the shoulder was really wide, huge drop from shoulder to waist. Not sure if asian sizing is different but it was incredibly fitted. Also tried the other ones, washington or something and something else, all had their own problems. Not very into the aesthetic either aka the wall street yuppie tom ford wannabe.
Song for the mute is very solid, pricey yes but their alpaca knits from this season are very well made.

do i size up 1 or 2 for guidi lace ups? specifically 795 or 995
|
995 is in between 1-2, depends on your feet and the leather. most people size 1 up. idk about 795.

what kind of leathers would I need to size up 2 for? Are the lasts really narrow? Also is the higher heel/double sole w/e on the 795 worse for asians with low arch? I was looking at 795v with the vibramed combat sole for winter but then thought getting a 995 and vibraming it is probably better versatility wise. I think most 995s I saw are either horse or donkey. Thanks andy
edit: read through sf threads, seems sizing varies even among similar leathers. What I understood was the softer leathers will stretch more so better to size up 1 whereas the thicker leathers need sizing up 1.5-2. So then baby calf would be the softest right? And horse/cordovan/donkey would all be considered thick? I think I'll have the opportunity to try on 795, not 995 in 45, but not 46. I'm normally a 44/US 11, Really don't wanna get sizing wrong.

his pants and long coats were nice. I'm not a sz'er and I don't really understand the aesthetic. All I know is it looks like yohji and old shanghainese clothing and goes with guidi. But I really didn't see anything super creative, based on my amateur eye. Compared to uma wang or the yohji I've handled, the ziggy stuff just isn't that interesting. His fabric was somewhat creative, the silhouette had drop shoulders and skirt like hem. Some of the pieces only had frayed edges at the bottom hem and not at the sleeves and that was super weird. Also sells at 150% markup in the dudes hometown compared to overseas.
I think the most important kopping virtue is discipline. The last full priced item I bought was acne max stay cashes at the acne store, I justified it by telling myself those never go on sale and slim black jeans are a staple item. Two weeks later I'm having trouble figuring out what I can wear them with. None my schneider requires a pant like that, the clean texture and silhouette only fits my random uniqlos and nothing else. For the same price I could've gotten a pair of uma wang loose trousers or some standard ziggy tapered pants on sale, which would go with more interesting stuff and just better buys overall. Schneider is super clean but really textured and not classically slim, as such I think they go better with other textured knits and pants rather than clean slim acne/uniqlo stuff that seem very basic and versatile but are in fact very constricting.
also, now that i've handled ziggy/uma stuff, sftm seems like a really trashy interpretation of the same aesthetic by mixing sportswear into it. They sell parafin and nylon pants which aren't even comfortable. The seamwork is pretty cool but that's about it. The alpaca knit is still nice though.

looking to keep it below $300 tbh!!! Given the price, Skagen watches are IMO pretty good quality. I have 3 different Skagen watches and I have never had any problems (the oldest is probably 7 or 8 years old)
