I've realized that one of the things about those pics that bothers me a lot, and this might be really arbitrary is that I hate black/white contrast. I'd much prefer analogous colors like navy/blue, even black/charcoal than black/white.

The only color I have in my life is Raf Simons (and even then only my magenta lows have colors).

Was browsing through MFA and saw this guide: http://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/2cilo9/modernist_streetwear_style_guide/ This guy summarizes the "standard" sufu and sf fits pretty well (more sf I think). Seems like the appeal of the fits he posted are just the fits in themselves and nothing else. It's also the same fit and proportions for every picture. Modernist is not the same as modern, and I don't know if modern is the proper term to describe the styles he's writing about. I don't wanna be like the cynical hipster who hates everything but I only liked a few of the button down pics, rest is pretty nondescript. Reading that guide kinda made me not want to dress like that. lmao this guy actually quotes asap rocky as a source the majority of example pictures he references aren't bad because they're mostly pulled from either sufu/styleforum, with a couple i recognize from sz as well. of the former two communities, there's a lot of crossover but I'd say sf errs on the side of cleaner fits, whereas sufu is leans towards looser, urban outfits. just a consequence of of each forum's respective derivative histories, as well as their communities' overall age and education background. For instance if we look at a v-neck t-shirt there's the length of the shirt, the length of the sleeve, how deep the V is, how thick the fabric is, how soft it is etc. etc. Kind of mind boggling to me how I see the same few t-shirts recommended over and over despite the fact that everyone's preferences must be different. there are different versions of the same kind of clothing for a reason, they fit into different outfits. think about it like cars - you can drive a heavy duty truck in a metropolis, but its purpose is mostly use for contruction related activities, towing, and maybe offroading. then again, there's obviously nothing wrong with driving it in the city. there's no 'universally desired' aspect, except maybe well done seams and stitching.

+ Show Spoiler + ![]() ![]() The low rise on the Somets isn't that low, but it kinda accentuates my flat asian ass. Having read all the whining on sufu about how stiff they are I expected far more, they can't even come close to standing up on their own. Some pulling around the thighs but probably gonna keep. + Show Spoiler +

after that I'm probably waiting for my life to justify a junghans chronoscope either way amazon is great, but probably doesn't have the widest selection. I consulted watchuseek pretty extensively for watch decisions if you're looking to do some research.

Must be automatic, I prefer acrylic over sapphire, bracelet over leather, ~39-40 mm diameter, and I like the look of black dial German chronographs. I've had my eye on the Sinn 356 Flieger acrylic on bracelet for a long time, it's at the extreme upper end of my budget at retail, and with prices set to increase anywhere from 10-20% by the end of the month, I'm tempted to pull the trigger on watchbuys soon. It would represent a huge upgrade from my timex lol Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope ticks all those boxes as andyrau mentioned. Other than that there's really no other option as far as I'm aware, since German timepieces have only become more popular in the last 20 or so years. It's a little bit more expensive but you can probably find a good preowned one from chrono24. Another option is to go vintage. Watch movements haven't really undergone much change in the last 30 years. The Valjoux 7750, an ubiquitous chronograph movement, has been essentially the same since the 70s. My favorite chronographs from that era are the Heuer Autavia and the original Hamilton Pan Europ. If you can risk going the ebay route, your budget should be enough. One tip though, never buy a watch unless you truly love it. For a lot of people flipping watches becomes a disease and they sink a ton of money owning watches for short periods of time and constantly looking for one that satisfies them. Find one you love; buy it the moment you can.

I ordered one 13.5 months now for a DR (still hasn't arrive yet, of course). On the other hand, my TOJ MA-1 purchased second hand arrives tomorrow.
