Every major city has been doing this with water forever. Every cup of water has been drunk, pissed out, filtered and reprocessed many times before. This is no different. That said, I'd still take real meat.

Since when is eating protein disgusting?

Obviously I'd want to make sure they're getting rid of whatever toxins are in poop, and that the bacteria are all killed before they're fed to me... and I'm not going to pretend it's meat any more than those soy patties are meat... but I don't see the problem.

I think this is a new step compared to filtering urine into drinking water. On one level its the same thing I admit.

How would you market something like this if you could price in comparatively? You'd have to disclose the source of the meat and it couldn't be an ambiguous "artificial" or "reprocessed' or "reclaimed" name, you'd have to call it something alluding to it being shitmeat.

How would you convince people to buy it?

Haha I totally agree with you man maybe I might feed it to the random racoons that show up so they would stop eating my outside cats damn food all the time. But I sure as hell wouldn't feed that to my kitty cat! Just seems weird to re-use waste this way but you know if it could help some counties then go for it I mean I would eat that over starving to death but I wouldn't eat it if I still had a choice. Its not like you give a damn if your almost dead from lack of food so rock on they should make this easily accessible to countries with a high amount of starving people.

The protein comes from the bacteria that grows on the feces. Where does the primary mass come from? The idea of eating matter which started as excrament, then was completely rearranged molecularly to form new matter is one thing. To eat the matter that is the leftover protein that passed right through someone else is another thing. Yet another thing is to eat the matter which grows on feces, producing its own protein. I highly suspect that what we're talking about here though, is actually eating waste matter itself, with its bacteria thoroughly dead so that it's not harmful anymore, but left in place for sake of nutrition. This is quite different from drinking recycled urine, since recycled urine is simply water. This is actually shit, its plain self, only sterilized and with flavour added.

knowing how sausages are made was a little bit more disturbing actually but it didnt stop me from loving sausage and knowing this wouldnt stop me from considering it.
