I don't think he was calling everyone stupid, just that we are deep down animals. As much as you want to try and rise above and try and act superior to the primitive animals, at our core we still have an animal instinct.
His entire point is that people, including you, are saying "we" for things that don't necessarily apply to everyone. It's entirely possible for people to "rise above and act superior to primitive animals".

Sure you can live and act as if you are rising above primitive animals, but that doesn't mean that your being doesn't still have primitive aspects to it. I'm not trying to say everyone should act like savages, and not try to be intellectual, just because we are at our core primitive, all I was trying to say is that just because you want to try and act like you are more than an animal, doesn't mean that you don't have core functions that make you one.

So if it wasn't pointing out what I thought you were trying to say, then you are simply stating that humans are part of the animal kingdom? I must say though that so far the Canadians have reacted surprisingly well to this event. I wish our media / leaders would speak out like this against these lowlifes in Europe. But it seems that here we have pretty much accepted hooliganism as part of life. It is entirely normal here in the netherlands for football supporters of the away team to be escorted by police (on my tax money mind you) back and too the match. Plus of course all the policemen that have to be there during the match.
