Dunno if this has been posted yet. I've read most, but certainly not all posts in this thread.
edit: Btw, I think calling this a riot only cheapens any meaningful riot which has occurred in the past. It should be called what it is - a temper tantrum.
RIOT MIDGET is the second best person and he's gonna get it soon too
Yeah, Riot Midget is a boss. I spent a lot of time today on that Facebook group looking at the photos. Some chump with a water polo scholarship to the U of C got busted lighting a cop car on fire too. Oops. There are a few grade-A popped-collar douche bags who show up in like 3/4s of the riot footage on YouTube too.
Apparently some twat mased him while he was on the ground too. Insult to injury. Vancouver is a gorgeous city but there are way too many people from Vancouver living there. I kid, I kid.

Some scary moments: 1) Guy pushing people around him got threatened and shoved by like 6 people. 2) full bottles of pop (750mL) being thrown into the crowd in the 1st period 3) People pelting fans in trees with garbage/bottles 4) Other debris being thrown 5) Pot smokers (gross!) 6) People threatening Boston fans at Roger arena "I will kill that b****", "Thomas' kids and wife are dead", add your own expletives 7) People mentioning that they will riot, regardless of outcome and that they were there to cause trouble. 8) At the end of the game people throwing (some glass) bottles at the tv and disrupting the image (georgia street) 9) People jumping on the car (vw golf) then flipping it over (same one as in 2nd picture on opening page and last picture on opening page). I left after that.
How are pot smokers scarier then people threatening to kill Tim Thomas and his family?
Sorry for the confusion. The number system I used in no way reflects the importance (ie. 1 is not higher priority or scarier than 2), it is purely nominal. I just really hate the smell of pot and it lessened my experience. I know many others may feel the exact opposite, but whatever.

Really? For me it was the Tsunami in Southeast Asia. There was a picture of hundreds of bodies floating in the water face down. That was awful, I haven't looked at the picture since then but it I can still visualize it. The riot was bad and scary (I watched the game in downtown) but for me seeing people die is always worse then idiots making fools of themselves.
Sorry my mistake T.T....I just thought that was a weird priority list. Makes sense now...Sorry you had to be there man...I don't get how the police "didn't see it coming" when casual fans across the country did.
The man is a fucking hero. What the fuck were the people thinking stomping him like 15 vs. 1 and the people filming that shit don't even bother defending a man getting stomped. Fucking animals.

In a just world, there would be resignations coming from the incompetent police department officials, but I predict there will be none.
How are they incompetent? They can't just stop people from starting a riot in a crowd of more than 100,000. I wonder how well you could have handled that situation...
