Alright I am sick of warning people: Trolling, flame baiting, and derailing will result in insta bans. The same goes for conspiracy theorists and stupidity generally.

This thread is specifically dedicated to the details surrounding the raid/his death.

Operation conducted by Navy Seals via a helicopter mission.

Obama stated he was killed after the firefight, meaning he was likely executed after the rest of the terrorists were eliminated.
Lol. No. That's not what he said. He said that after a firefight with a JSOF unit, he was dead. There is no implication that he was 'executed after the fight'. That's you misinterpreting words. The US & allies do not espouse extra-judicial killings, nor does Obama - just look at how the "Kill Team" was received by media & military recently.
Nah, there is a shoot on sight order. You are supposed to kill him if you find him, there would not have been a trial he was sentenced to death already.

This means there is either a crackshot on the special forces team (HEADSHOT!) or they executed him after the fact.
Either way it's awesome.
I want to know the name of the Hero that took his head. I'll send a letter of appreciation to him
A letter? I'll send him a freaking bar of gold.
It was obviously a cloaked ghost.
Oh shit. It was Kerrigan....
Anyways, to all the people talking about how its sad that we're celebrating someone's death, just this once I think we can say fuck principles. The fact that he has been brought to justice alive or dead is what counts. I'd prefer to think of it that way, and either way this is a tremendous moral victory for the US so I'll be celebrating tonight.

Wrong. The man who fired the shot will wake up tomorrow, and go back to training for his next mission. The man is a member of JSOF, he is not James Bond. His work is no different than the 5,000 or so others like him, and he is no better than any of them. No one will know his name save his teammates and family members, perhaps.

Do you have a link or a source or something we could look at?

Ameericuhhh Fuck yeeeee
Way to only read the OP and do no research of your own jackass. He was killed during a firefight in a secret compound in Pakistan. Regardless of how you feel about America or Bin Laden, that comment was crass, disrespectful, and uncalled for.
People who don't understand why this such a huge accomplishment obviously dont 1) know anyone who died during 9/11 and 2) dont understand who exactly Osama bin laden truly was to his followers. If anyone else has read any of this guy's stuff, you'd know that he was more than just a leader to his followers.
However, it will be interesting to see exactly what happens going forward.
On a closing note to all the trolls early on in the thread, sorry you guys got swept up by the deluge of comments in the beginning. Thing have calmed down a little, let the games begin.

And when he retires, free drinks forever. Don't be an ass I know the world isn't a movie.

You should have phrased that better. Like "they're all fucking awesome" or "the man who fired the shot is a hero among many."
