Wow, you all suck. Actually when a baby is born its 52% to be a boy, so that would make the other kid more than 52% to be a boy, since when she got that 48% girl, she is now statistically even more likely to get a boy.

I'm looking forward to the new riddle of radar14, but I guess with the time difference I will be asleep All you beloved fellow riddle solvers, make me proud tomorrow morning when i get up

Oooh heres a quick one. Historically it makes no sense, but what the heck
During WWII, there was a bridge connecting Germany and Switzerland, and on the German side, there was a sentry tower with a guard in it. He would come out every three minutes to check on the bridge, and he had orders to turn back anyone who tried to get into Germany, and shoot anyone trying to escape without a pass. There was a woman who desperately needed to get into Switzerland, and she knew she didn't have time to get a pass. It would take her at least six minutes to cross the bridge, but she managed to do it. How?

It says that she was able to cross the bridge so she obviously didn't swim Undressing doesn't help She is not the guard.

the guard missed a 3 minute shift

We're talking about a German guard not a French guard here -_-

she walked half the the bridge, then changed directions so she would appear to come from switzerland, and the guard sent her back.

Ok, here is bluffhead.
Each person takes a card from a shuffled deck and holds it, face out, to his or her forehead. In other words, players see everyone else's cards but not their own. The best card wins. Ace is high and suits don't matter, so ties are possible.
Each player makes one of the statements listed at the bottom right of this page. Assume the players are perfect logicians and reveal information only through these phrases; also, they say the strongest thing they can--that is, they choose the statement that is true and highest on the list.
statements: i win i lose i tie as a winner i dont win i dont lose i dont know
Game 1: Caroline says, "I don't know." David then says, "I don't win," and Jordan follows with, "I win."
This one is easy. Caroline doesnt know, so she doesnt see an ace. David doesnt win, so he sees a king, but he might have one himself, so there is a chance he wins. Jordan knows a king is out, but doesnt see one, so he knows he wins.
here are 4 more games. 2,3,4 are easy. 5 is VERY difficult.
Game 2: Caroline says, "I don't know." David then says, "I don't win," and Jordan follows with, "I tie as a winner."
Game 3: Caroline says, "I don't know." David then says, "I don't win," and Jordan follows with, "I don't win."
Game 4: Caroline says, "I don't know." David then says, "I don't know," and Jordan follows with, "I don't know." At the start of the next round, Caroline responds, "I lose." Can you predict what David and Jordan say next?
Game 5: Caroline, David and Jordan each say, "I don't know" in order, then say, "I don't know" in a second round. In the third round, Caroline and David say, "I don't know," but Jordan says, "I win." Which card does Jordan have, and what might he see?

I studied math for the 24 years of my life and I can swear being able to answer this problem has very little to do with studying a lot. Some people are good at probability ridles, some aren't. Actually I thought that a 3 year old with no knowledge of math has a better chance of getting this question right than a probability wiz. Just comes to prove Schiller's assertion that modern sophistitry makes us all dumber
ouch i'm taking a beating here, but yea i was just sitting through class and i realized what my mistake was. I'm jumping off the 2/3 ship and getting on the 1/2 ship. So i will shoot myself now for being so dumb haha. So i'm going to flip flop and Say now its a 1/2 chance!!!!!!

good thing you corrected that type with a whole nother post.
Good thing bigballs gives the answers along with his riddles, my laziness has been satiated.

the possibilities are:
GG, GG, BG, GB
not GG BG GB
let me put it to you a new way because we'ere basically just going back and forth here. let's say the woman has 10 children, and you find out that 9 of them are girls. do you still think it is a 50/50 chance the last one is a boy? what if she has 10000 children and 9999 are girls?
I would love to play the casino using your logic, if red hits (assuming there is no 0) then there is 66% chance that black hits next time......i think they would go bankrupt. Its still 50/50 no matter how many times red has hit before.

C and J can't have a king either or he'd say i don't win. So they have queen or less (he can have a king and win or have lower than them and lose -> don't know). J doesn't know, so D can't have a king or he'd lose. If C or D had a queen he'd say I don't win, so C and D have have jacks or less (he can still have queen and win). C says she loses, the only way she's sure is if J has a queen. D loses too and J wins.

What's the lowest card in the deck ? 2 ?

I havent read your ppost on page 10 or 12 i think(i will), but i am going over the problem again because when i did the problem in my head i was doing it based on other peoples post and i want to read the original question more carefully.
I really dont care if i'm right or not now, before i did, but now i want to find the correct answer if there is one. Sorry, reading my post again, it may have sounded agressive but it was absolutely not my intention. I'm just very tired so I'm noticeably harsher and more direct in my posts, no offense intended
You dont need to say sorry, i wasnt offended . I was just trying to clarify what i meant, because when i reread what i wrote it sounded a bit arrogant. And BTW after looking at the question again & your arguments, the answer is 1/2. I am a believer now

If an inmate saw red and blue he would be able to quickly deduce that his card COULDN'T be blue--since the inmate with the red card would see two blue cards and would have known immediately he was red. Thus, his card can't be blue, it has to logically be red, assuming the other inmates aren't deadbrains. 2. The warden had intentions of letting the most intelligent one go, and the only fair way to give them each a fair chance is to give them all red. It makes sense.
OKAY-NO ONE BELIEVED ME WHEN I SAID THAT ROTA MIGHT BE WRONG-HERE'S THE EXPLANATION
In part 1: He says that inmate 1(our inmate) couldn't have blue because the inmate with the red card would see 2 blues and deduce that since both blue cards are taken, he would have a red card.
BUT-Even if he does have a blue card, it would be like this
inmate 1-Sees 2 red Inmate 2-Sees 1 red/1 blue(inmate 1) Iinmate 3-Sees 1 red/1 blue(inmate 1)
That isn't enough information for ANY of the inmates to call out what color they are wearing. It's impossible and it's all just a guess.
I think the riddle must be confused.
