Really weird that they would attack a regime CP since the regime does not pose any threat to YPG because they are getting shat on by the FSA. According to logic the YPG should focus on attacking the ISIS as of now and nothing else.

Some of them become citizens of Turkey while others become citizens of Syria. For 90 years Turkey-Syria border wasn't heavily guarded like that. Especially on Muslim Holidays both sides met with their family members. Also lots of Syrian and Turkish were smuggling. Now Syrians tries to get in contact with frontier villages to somehow pass the border. When the war between Assad and FSA started millions escaped to Turkey. Sweden offered to help 30k people but there is already 3 millon Syrians in Turkey. Also if they want to use illegal boats they have to pass IS, then FSA, then Assad regime. These 3 territories are extremely dangerous. But if they manage to get Turkey at least they will be away from war. are you talking about kurds near the syrian/turkish border or the arabs (syrians) who live close to it? if we're talking about the arabs, they have to reach turkey to get into europe which leads to http://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/europe-tightens-borders-and-fails-to-protect-people-a-989502-3.html i doubt syrians lived in turkish villages during the ottoman era.. lol

Syria doesn't really exist as a country anymore, and millions of Syrians live in Turkey to avoid getting barrel-bombed or decapitated. Is this a conspiracy or something?

“The [interim] government . . . is still studying this proposal, especially since it behooves us to also discuss it with Turkish officials, because it firstly concerns them.” Meanwhile, Ahmed Ramadan, a member of the Syrian National Coalition’s Politburo, welcomed the proposal and called on the Coalition to adopt it. “This idea to replace the Syrian currency with Turkish lira was previously put forward by the interim government’s Finance Ministry, but it was not implemented,” Ramadan told Asharq Al-Awsat. “Even though the Coalition has still not looked into the current proposal properly, I personally absolutely support it.” The move has now become necessary, he said, especially since the regime continues to print money which is being exchanged on the black market for US dollars, despite the government’s foreign currency reserves dwindling rapidly.

Why would you link a twitter post linking to the news site, instead of just linking the news site? Also im not a doctor but those civillians in the pictures dont seem awfully starved. Just today I saw a 200meter long queue for food charity here in Helsinki, and im supposed to believe that 30meter long line is proof that the residents are starving. Besides I have seen videos where people who have been liberated from ISIS occupation complaining that their situation did not get any better after it.

An explosion has left scores dead in a municipal culture center in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa’s Suruç district. At least 10 people were killed, broadcaster Habertürk reported, adding that 45 had been hospitalized. There is speculation that the blast was caused by a suicide bomber from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). At least 300 members of the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) were staying at the Amara Culture Center as part of a summer expedition to help rebuild Kobane, which lies directly across the border from Suruç. The culture center, which is run by the Suruç Municipality under the control of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), frequently hosts visiting journalists and volunteers who work with refugees from Kobane.

I assume BBC keeps editing the original text, they changed it entirely 3 times. I noticed that after posting here, now i see your message and clicked on it, totally different again.

Two Turkish police officers have been found dead in the town of Ceylanpinar near the Syrian border. The officers were found with bullet wounds in the house they shared in the town, which is in the same province as Suruc. Police outside the building where the bodies were found on 22 July, 2015 The two bodies were found close to where 32 people were killed in Monday's bomb blast The outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has claimed responsibility for the killings, saying it was in revenge for the massacre in Suruc and accusing the police officers of collaborating with IS. At least one of the officers worked for an anti-terrorism task force, the AA news agency said.

In a separate attack on July 22, a non-commissioned military officer in the province of Kilis was killed by a gunshot from across Turkey's border with Syria, Anadolu Agency reported. This is not the first attack targeting Turkish security forces in recent days. http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/turkish-army-engages-in-first-gunfight-with-isil-after-soldier-killed-on-border.aspx?pageID=238&nID=85843&NewsCatID=359 in the meantime Masked assailants shot at two traffic policemen in the Yenişehir neighborhood of Diyarbakır on July 23 after they were called over an accident report, according to state-run Anadolu Agency. Both policemen were wounded seriously and one of them died at Dicle University Hospital. http://www.breakingnews.com/item/2015/07/23/one-turkish-police-officer-killed-in-shooting-2nd/ ![]() Arınç said Defense Minister Vecdi Gönül made a presentation jointly prepared by his ministry and the Interior Ministry on a border security system planned to be established along the country's border with Syria. “The critical issue here is preventing the entry of terrorists [into Turkey] and taking physical measures along the border against the Daesh [ISIL] threat. A physical security system will be established along the border,” Arınç said. The explosion in Suruç took place at a cultural center as the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) was preparing a press conference regarding plans to rebuild the Syrian border town of Kobani. The attack came days after Turkey had begun to step up its efforts against ISIL militants inside Turkey. Davutoğlu has said initial findings suggest ISIL terrorists had been behind the attack on the gathering in Suruç. In recent months, Turkish authorities have announced several times that ISIL terrorists had either been caught or had surrendered to security forces along the border. The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) warned last month that ISIL was preparing to organize attacks in Turkey using eight suicide bombers, one of them a woman. According to reports in the Turkish media, MİT said the suicide bombings would hit predominantly Kurdish towns. There have also been reports that the Turkish government plans to build a security wall along the Syrian border. A 3.5-meter-high concrete wall will reportedly be built along the 911-kilometer border to prevent illegal crossings into Turkey from Syria, including the crossing of militants from ISIL. According to reports, wire fences will also be placed behind the wall, along with security lights and cameras. The Interior Ministry has reportedly sent a total of TL 20 million (about $7.5 million) to the governors' offices of the border provinces of Gaziantep, Kilis, Şanlıurfa and Hatay for the implementation of the border security plan.
